What high reticulocyte count indicates? …..Indicates the body is trying to raise the low red blood cell count. This is seen when red blood cells are lost from bleeding or cell damage.

The amount of rbc increase in anxiety? RBC count increases during the emotional conditions such as anxiety. It is because of increase in the sympathetic activity as in the case of muscular exercise

The amount of rbc increase in exersice ,why¿ It is because of mild hypoxia and contraction of spleen While Spleen stores RBCs, Hypoxia increases the sympathetic activity resulting in secretion of adrenaline from adrenal medulla.

Prolonged clotting times are generally found when : 1. Liver diseases (affect production of clotting factors). 2. Vit. K deficiency. 3. Drugs such as heparin. 4. Deficiency in clotting factors as in Haemophilia.

Prolonged bleeding times are generally found when : 1. Thrombocytopenia: when platelet count is below 50,000/μL. 2. When there is platelet dysfunction. 3. Certain drugs: aspirin or NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)

Erythrocytes that have a normal size or volume (normal MCV) are called normocytic, When the MCV is high, they are called macrocytic. When the MCV is low, they are termed microcytic.
