English short note about Apostrophe(').
Apostrophes are primarily used in two ways: to indicate possession and to create contractions.
Here are some examples of using apostrophes to indicate possession:
1. The cat's tail is fluffy. (The tail belongs to the cat.)
2. My parents' house is beautiful. (The house belongs to my parents.)
3. The book's pages are torn. (The pages belong to the book.)
And here are some examples of using apostrophes to create contractions:
1. I can't go to the party. (can't = cannot)
2. We won't be late. (won't = will not)
3. That wasn't the right answer. (wasn't = was not)
Remember, an apostrophe is not used to make a word plural. For example, instead of "apple's" (to indicate more than one apple), you would simply write "apples."
