Vessel traffic through Hormuz has slowed sharply, while refinery disruptions across the Middle East and Russia are tightening global fuel supplies. 2) Gold Update: Holds Firm Near $4,500 Gold extended gains as dovish remarks from Fed Governor Christopher Waller pushed the probability of a September rate hike down to nearly 50% from 63%. Until then, every rise should be treated with caution as the risk of another dead-cat bounce remains high. # THE 3-NEGATIVE CATALYSTS ON THE FRONT PAGES | 1) Crude-oil shock: Brent near $95 threatens inflation, the rupee and India’s import bill. 2) The US 10-year yield around 4.80% continues to tighten global financial conditions. 3) Fresh US–Iran attacks have revived concerns over energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz. # THE 2-SILVER LININGS | 1) Institutional support: FIIs bought shares worth ₹6,688 crore, while DIIs invested ₹2,813 crore on Wednesday. 2) India’s 7.8% GDP growth and record forex inflows provide a stronger fundamental buffer against the global turbulence.

However, continued shipments through Hormuz and efforts to reopen the strait capped further gains. Meanwhile, US crude inventories fell by 4.5 million barrels last week. 2) Gold Update: Gold Wavers | Gold traded near $4,400 per ounce as softer US Treasury yields and a weaker dollar supported prices. However, expectations of a September Fed rate hike kept gains in check. Focus now shifts to the ADP report and Friday’s US jobs data. 3) Silver Update: Silver above $65 | Silver traded above $65 an ounce, supported by a softer dollar and easing Treasury yields. Cooling US employment growth and signs of moderating inflation aided the rebound, although expectations of a September Fed rate hike capped gains. 4) Copper Update: Copper Stabilizes | Copper held near $6.50 per pound, below its recent record high of $6.70, as rising bond yields pressured demand prospects. However, supply shortages, disrupted sulphuric acid availability and potential US tariffs on unprocessed copper limited the downside. (Source: MARKETWATCH, BARRONS, WSJ, THESTREET, INVESTING.COM)
