GIFT Nifty 🇮🇳: (-59, 23655)
BEFORE WE START | TUESDAY’S MARKET RECAP
Dalal Street extended its decline for the second straight session as elevated crude oil, rising global bond yields and escalating Middle East hostilities strengthened the bears’ grip.
BENCHMARK INDICES AT TUESDAY’S CLOSE |
NIFTY: 23,635 (-144 Points)
SENSEX: 75,578 (-555 Points)
BANK NIFTY: 56778 (-311 Points)
# WHAT’S NEXT FOR NIFTY? |
Honestly speaking, Nifty’s close at 23,635 leaves its crucial 23,600 support hanging by a thread.
A decisive break below 23,600 could accelerate the decline towards 23,400 and then the bears’ next major target at 23,000.
On the upside, Nifty must reclaim 24,000, while meaningful bullish confirmation will emerge only above 24,150.
# OUR CALL OF THE DAY | Protect Capital—The Bears Remain in Control
Investors should avoid aggressive bottom-fishing and maintain higher cash levels.
The preferred strategy is to sell on strength, maintain strict stop-losses and restrict fresh leveraged positions.
# THE DOUBLE THREAT TO DALAL STREET |
1) Brent crude is approaching the psychologically important $100-per-barrel mark.
2) The US 10-year Treasury yield is hovering near 4.80%—its highest level since October 2023.

US stock futures steadied on Wednesday after Wall Street ended lower in the previous session, as surging oil prices reignited inflation concerns and strengthened expectations of higher interest rates.
Geopolitical tensions escalated after the US struck five Iranian tankers near Kharg Island in retaliation for attempted missile attacks on a US warship.
Investors now await crucial US inflation data for further cues on the Federal Reserve’s policy decision next week. Markets currently assign around a 60% probability of a 25-basis-point rate hike.

# COMMODITIES CORNER:
1) Oil Update: Surges Above $94 to Three-Month Highs
WTI Crude oil climbed above $94 per barrel on Wednesday after the US struck several Iranian tankers near Kharg Island—a major crude-export hub—raising fears of further global supply disruptions.
KEY CATALYSTS |
The strikes reportedly followed an attempted missile attack on a US warship.
Iran retaliated with ballistic missiles towards Jordan and warned tanker crews near Kuwaiti and Bahraini ports to abandon their vessels.
Iran-backed Houthis targeted Saudi energy infrastructure, including the 400,000-barrel-per-day Jazan refinery.
Stronger Chinese demand is lifting prices of African, Canadian and Latin American crude as refiners seek alternatives to disrupted Strait of Hormuz supplies.
BOTTOM LINE | Escalating military action and mounting supply risks suggest that crude oil prices could remain elevated and volatile.
2) Gold Update: Holds Near $4,350
Gold steadied near $4,350 per ounce after two days of losses, pressured by rising oil prices and renewed Fed rate-hike fears.
Markets see a 60% probability of a 25-basis-point hike next week, keeping non-yielding gold under pressure ahead of crucial US inflation data.
3) Silver Update: Trades Near $65.50
Silver hovered near $65.50 per ounce after two sessions of losses, pressured by rising oil prices and renewed Fed rate-hike fears.
However, robust industrial demand from the solar-energy and electrification sectors continues to offer underlying support.
4) Copper Update: Nears Record Highs
