The land of Shinqit has just lost and mourned one of its great pillars of scholarship, Muhammad al-Hasan Walad Ahmadu al-Khadim al-Yaʿqubi al-Shinqiti. He passed away today. He was one of the top scholars of the Maliki Madhab.

One reason Muslims need to be far more vocal than anyone else in denouncing Uthman Faruq as a fraud and charlatan is that even if they don't, he will inevitably be exposed as one by Christians (indeed this has already happened with his hadith fabrication fiasco and now his lies about his fake 1 vs 20 debate). We have to take the lead in exposing him as a lying fraud and charlatan so that Christian apologists are not able to weaponise his "Baqillani of the era" status for point scoring in the public discourse. The least harm of this would be that it would reinforce in the minds of their followers the impression that if this is the best Muslims have to offer, Islam must not be a serious religion.

Uthman Ibn Farooq isn’t qualified to even give da’wah. The Internet is now awash with Christians hammering him with his مسحاء blunder. Do we really expect a Christian who is sincere in seeking the truth not to be affected by this blatant error and gross deception by UbF? I would venture to say many have been turned away from embracing Islam because of UbF’s incompetence. Yet now, he’s the face of street da’wah online for Islam.

Daees caught lying must be immediately removed from dawah and no one should platform them.

The passionate forbidding of the Mawlid by the wahabis is completely unjustified given it is an established opinion in the madhhabs that is relied upon and that the principles used to establish it were laid down by mujtahid imams. To busy the people with rejection of matters that are of valid difference of opinion is the real bid'a here.

All who tried to do away with all differences of opinions did not succeed except in laying the groundwork for more differences of opinions.

The irony of rejecting agreed upon matters from a tradition of 1400 years of scholarship spanning vast lands and diverse cultures, backgrounds, and languages in the grounds that that these scholars had biases is that this rejection is a product of biases.

On the topic of AI, many have seen recently that AI companies are buying rare books to feed to their models and then they destroy the books so that anyone who wants access to that knowledge must go through them. This is also happening with Arabic texts, and it is essential that those who have the means and the know-how preserve rare books. Those who have the knowledge of what books must be purchased and preserved should make the case to the wider ummah to fund the acquisition of those texts, followed by making the texts available to the public.

The problem with some of the people who have been talking about the unreliability of taking knowledge from Qaf is that they themselves are unreliable sources of knowledge; however, they continue to talk about Islam. I am, of course, weary of AI entering 'ilm'; however, at the end of the day, it is a tool just like all other tools. Someone who is not trained correctly to deal with 'ilm will not know how to use it, and those who do will be amplified in their ability to produce. The only thing I would say is if you are going to use such tools, make sure you have a set of real teachers who you trust to go back to so that you do not fall into major errors.
