A Busy Morning
It is a busy morning at home. Mom is cooking in the kitchen. Dad is reading a newspaper. My little brother is playing with his toys. I am studying for my English test.
Outside, the birds are singing, and the sun is shining. Suddenly, my phone is ringing. It’s my friend! She is asking if I want to go to the park.
"Yes, of course!" I say. Now, I am getting ready to leave.

Word of the dayA Ferris wheel is a big, round ride that you see at fairs and amusement parks. It has seats or cabins attached to the wheel, and when it spins, people go up high and come back down slowly. The name comes from George Ferris, the man who built the first big wheel in 1893 for a fair in Chicago. Some people call it "The Wheel" or "Big Wheel" in casual talk. The biggest Ferris wheels, like the London Eye and High Roller in Las Vegas, are called observation wheels because people ride them to see beautiful city views.
