If indeed this ego awakening is the game's allegory for the soul achieving gnosis, then the example is brought full circle when P re-awakens Sophia in the Rise of P ending. This mirrors the promise of the aeon Sophia's redemption in Gnosticism, when her fallen light is rescued and returned to the Pleroma; The divine realm. The final image echoing the Saintess of Mercy statue, which itself is inspired by the Michelangelo’ La Pietà which depicts Jesus in the arms of his mother Mary. Jesus was viewed in Gnosticism not as a sacrifice for human sin, but as a divine messenger who brought secret knowledge (gnosis) to awaken the inner divine spark trapped inside human bodies.

Leonardo DaVinci studied the flower, which has appeared in numerous ancient ruins in Egypt, China, Assyria, Japan, India, Turkey, the Middle East, and so on. The flower is a figure in sacred geometry that serves as a visual blueprint of the universe and the interconnectedness of all matter.
