Q1. What does "cognitive dissonance" primarily describe?

Reading Comprehension Passage - 📘👇 The idea of "cognitive dissonance" refers to the discomfort one experiences when holding two conflicting beliefs or when one’s actions contradict their beliefs. This psychological phenomenon can lead individuals to adjust their beliefs to reduce the discomfort, even if it means ignoring evidence or rationalizing contradictions. The theory suggests that humans have an inherent need for internal consistency, which can often override logical reasoning. Interestingly, cognitive dissonance is not always a negative force. It can also drive individuals to change or adapt their beliefs when confronted with new information, though this process is often gradual and complex.

📘 NCERT Tip for Today: Make a Chapter-Wise Strategy 🎯 Objective: Focus on chapters that actually carry more weight in exams. 1. Identify Priority Chapters Check which topics are repeatedly asked in Boards / CUET / NEET / Olympiads. Focus more on those high-yield chapters. 2. Plan Study Time Smartly Give extra time to important chapters. But don’t skip the smaller ones — they’re often easy scoring. 3. Maintain Full Coverage Revise all chapters once, even briefly. A quick glance before exam can fetch easy marks. 4. Analyze Previous Papers Go through last 3–5 years’ papers. Spot which topics repeat — that’s your smart study guide. 💡 Pro Tip Toppers don’t study everything equally. They study what matters most.

🏆 World Cup for them, CUET rank for you — different dreams, same spirit. 🎯 They trained in silence, faced defeats, and rose stronger — not for fame, but for that one moment of victory. The Indian Women’s Team lifted the World Cup… but their real win began years ago, when no one was watching. And just like them, you’re grinding in silence too — late-night revisions, mock tests, and endless notes. Someday, your scoreboard will flash your CUET rank, and that’ll be your trophy. Keep hustling. Keep believing. Because champions are made long before the world sees them.
