I want to go to a far away land and never come back to all of my responsibilities.
I want to live a simple life, unaffected by the sensationalism and superficiality of social media.
All I want is to be human – be as how I was created and what I was meant to be.

There has been a boom in dependence on the Internet for medical advice recently. Instead of visiting a doctors in-person, many people now prefer digital platforms to examine their symptoms, ask health-related questions, and find out possible treatments. This phenomenon is mainly driven by factors rooted in modern lifestyle and digital accessibility.
This shift has significantly been contributed by time pressure in daily life. Many people have tight schedules because of work, education, or family responsibilities. Finding time for an appointment, waiting in a clinic, and consulting a doctor may seem impractical for minor or recurring issues. Digital medical services provide instant responses, allowing users to identify potential health problems without delays. I experienced allergies, for instance, and used an online symptom checker during a lunch break instead of taking half a day off to see a physician.
The increasing cost of personal healthcare also plays a key role. In countries having no standardized health coverage, even a single consultation can be financially depleting. Digital platforms offer a low-cost or even free alternative, making basic health information accessible to wider populations. For example, a college student living abroad, unable to afford private insurance, might turn to medical apps to manage minor issues like colds or stomach discomfort.
Another significant reason for this trend is the growing trust in technology. Many individuals feel more comfortable discussing personal health problems online, especially those involving stigma or embarrassment. Mental health, sexual health, and dermatological concerns are often first explored in private through virtual services. An example would be someone struggling with anxiety who begins with anonymous therapy apps such as Better-help before feeling ready to speak with a licensed professional in person.
In conclusion, virtual health tools offer accessibility, speed, and discretion that traditional settings often lack. Although these tools can be effective for initial guidance or managing minor conditions, they are not substitutes for professional diagnosis. Ensuring medical accuracy still depends on personal consultation, particularly for complex or persistent health concerns.

People use the Internet for medical advice and to do medical check-ups rather than directly meeting with doctors in an office. Why are they using the Internet for this? Discuss your viewpoints on this.

The table provides information about the amount of money spent on advertising by four car companies—Renault, Rover, Vauxhall, and Cetirizine—across five media categories: press, cinema, outdoor, radio, and TV in 2002.
Overall, advertising expenditure varied depending on car company, with a clear emphasis on TV, which was the dominant advertising channel in 2002. While press was the second most used medium for Renault and Rover, all companies allocated the same amount to radio. Cinema and outdoor were the least preferred advertising channels, with Rover and Cetirizine spending nothing on cinema advertising.
In 2002, Renault allocated the highest amount to TV advertising ($59 million). Press ranked second with $45 million, and $15 million was dedicated to radio—an amount that was consistent across all companies. Cinema and outdoor combined totaled $15 million.
Rover also prioritized TV, allocating $45 million, followed closely by press at $38 million. Outdoor advertising cost only $2 million, while no money was spent on cinema.
A similar spending pattern was observed for Vauxhall, which spent $65 million on TV. Press, cinema, and outdoor advertising together accounted for $30 million.
Cetirizine stood out with a substantial $70 million allocated to TV advertising, while $15 million and $12 million were spent on radio and press, respectively. Outdoor received $3 million, but no budget was allocated to cinema advertising in 2002.

The pie charts details the percentage of sales of five categories of books—adult fiction, children’s fiction, biography, travel, and others—from 1972 to 2012 sold by a bookseller.
Overall, while adult and children’s fiction grew in popularity over the period, the sales of biography and other types of books saw a noticeable decline. Although books in the “others” category initially had the highest sales, they were eventually overtaken by adult fiction. Travel-related books consistently accounted for a relatively small share of total sales throughout the 40-year span.
Over the given period, there was a steady increase in interest in fiction books, particularly adult fiction. In 1972, adult fiction accounted for 20% of total sales, and this figure rose significantly to 45% by 2012, making it the best-selling category. Similarly, sales of children’s fiction also increased, rising from an initial 20% to 25%, making it the second most popular category by the end of the period.
In stark contrast, the “others” category, which had been the top-selling group in 1972, saw a continuous decline, dropping to just 12% by 2012. Sales of biography books followed a similar trajectory, decreasing from 20% to 8%, the lowest figure among all categories. Meanwhile, travel-related books peaked at 18% in 1992 before falling to 10% by the end of the period.

A band 9.0 essay!
Some argue that researching one’s ancestry offers little practical benefit and is not worth the cost, while others believe it can be highly insightful and rewarding. Although both perspectives have merit, I personally support the latter view. A thorough investigation into one’s lineage can yield invaluable medical, psychological, and historical benefits.
From a medical standpoint, researching family history can play a crucial role in identifying hereditary diseases. If a person discovers a genetic predisposition to a particular condition, they may take preventive measures or seek early treatment. A case in point is my friend, who suffered from a rare and severe skin condition that baffled even the most experienced specialists. Upon exploring his family history, he discovered that his great-grandfather had experienced similar symptoms. Once this information was shared with the doctors, they correctly identified the illness as hereditary and initiated an effective treatment plan that likely saved his life.
Beyond health-related advantages, discovering one’s roots can contribute greatly to a person’s sense of identity. Personally, I had the opportunity to trace my family tree back six generations and learned that I am a direct descendant of Khudoyorkhon, a governor of the Kokand Khanate. This revelation instilled in me a deep sense of pride and has since become a meaningful part of how I introduce myself. In contrast, those who neglect their ancestry may unknowingly weaken the intergenerational chain of memory and identity. This lack of awareness can foster a sense of detachment, even disrespect, towards those who sacrificed much—sometimes even their lives—for the benefit of future generations.
Furthermore, studying the experiences of one’s ancestors offers valuable life lessons. By understanding the hardships faced by earlier generations—such as wars or pandemics—individuals can gain perspective and resilience. For example, The Principles of Great Timur, a treatise on governance and statecraft, was handed down to Timur’s descendants. This guidance, rooted in lived experience, contributed to the longevity and success of the Timurid Empire, which once ruled two-thirds of the known world.
In conclusion, while some may see genealogical research as an unnecessary expense, I believe it can offer profound value when conducted with purpose. It can not only facilitate early detection of hereditary diseases but also help individuals reconnect with their roots, gain wisdom from the past, and strengthen their identity. Therefore, researching one’s bloodline should be seen as an investment rather than a luxury.
