⚫️ I saw a video on X yesterday and there was a woman, she was speaking in French so I couldn't understand her. But the caption said that it was like France's minister of something, and she was basically telling the people of France that they were selfish for wanting air conditioning. That they wouldn't allow it, and that it would contribute to global warming.
📱 Yeah, that was Environment Minister Monique Barbut. She said she was "horrified" by people saying "just put AC everywhere" — called it a short-term fix that doesn't stop wildfires or protect animals, and pushed for long-term adaptation instead. The caption probably framed it as selfish for worsening global warming. She's getting roasted for it while people are suffering in this heatwave.
