السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Tonight's lesson @ Masjid Salim Mattar will be the last class this week before I leave for ‘Umrah. We will resume all our lessons when I return after around 2 weeks. Will keep everyone updated through this group. إن شاء الله.

It is to be noted that to differ from them, it is best that we fast the 9th and the 11th of Muharram together with the 10th (‘Ashoora).

Fasting On 'Ashoora 'Abdullah ibn Abbas (رضي الله عنه) reported that: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) arrived in Madinah and found the Jews fasting on the day of 'Ashoora (the tenth of Muharram). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to them: “What is the (significance) of this day that you observe fast on it?” They said: “It is the day of great (significance) when Allah delivered Musa عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَامُ (Moses) and his people, and drowned the Fir'aun (Pharaoh) [the tyrant of Egypt] and his people, and Moses observed fast out of gratitude and we also observe it”. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “We have more right, and we have a closer connection with Moses than you have; so Allah's Messenger observed fast (on the day of 'Ashoora), and gave orders that it should be observed”. [Sahih Muslim 1130c]

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته There will be no class @ Kovan Centre tonight, due to heavy rain. We will be resuming the Ramadhan course next Monday in shaa Allah. Tomorrow night we will be resuming the lesson @ Masjid Salim Mattar, as well as the lessons on weekend nights.
