Interactional potential energy of a dipole in external electric field is absolute i.e. No reference required.
U = vec{p}.vec{E} is absolute value of pot. Energy.
I'm current carrying conducting wire and *obstacles* are *electric field* . I can't create them(obstacles) and at the same time, I don't get affected from them(obstacles).
