"But I was absent. I didn't know the homework." If you were absent in the lesson, do ask your groupmates or your teacher about the homework and what has been taught in the class. You might have had a serious reason for missing the class, but there is no excuse for not doing the homework. If you don't understand the task, PLEASE ASK your teacher. If your teacher doesn't help, then find a better teacher. You may not realize how important it is. But let me tell you this, many students have awful English simply because they've been skipping lessons and not doing tasks on time. You might be studying advanced course and still making elementary mistakes. That's because there are holes in your knowledge, you think you're advanced but, honestly, you aren't. Unfortunately, advanced course can't help you solve your elementary level problems. That's why we have elementary students who think they are intermediate. Don't miss classes, do your tasks on time.
