The identification of good strategies is not done by how much profit they can make in non volatile months but how they behave in volatile months. Strategies which are able to close in less profit or small losses in volatile months are the ones to go for in the long term.

Your focus as a trader should not be to make money. Focusing purely on money is the best way to not get it. Your focus should be on making the best trades possible. The money will take care of itself. Your focus needs to be 100% on playing the price action that is right in front of you. Executing your rules and executing your plan like a professional. Do pro basketball players think about money as they make their way down the court : No, they are focused on the craft. Do comedians think about money while they are telling jokes : No, they are focused on their craft. When you focus on money, you bring in unwanted emotions. Gamblers focus on money. Focus on the price action, play the price action. The money will take care of itself. Promise.

If you get pumped and excited while in a trade, 99% chance is that you are an amateur. I don’t know about you but I am here to make consistent money. Not to have fun. Professionals don’t care about having fun, they are here to take the money. The truth is not pretty. Trading is not supposed to be fun and many new traders fail to understand that. What is exactly fun about following the same exact boring process day in and day out? If you are trading and doing what I just mentioned above, your trading is probably quite boring. GOOD! This means you are doing it right. People lack that fun and excitement in their personal lives and want to try to do it through trading. Recipe for disaster. I don’t know about you but at the end of the day, I am here to make money. That’s my objective. And I know the best way to complete that objective is by having a solid trading system, strict rules and amazing risk management. Nothing I just said above is sexy, it’s not exciting. Professionals don’t care about having fun or it being exciting. They are here to make money. ✌️
