News 🇱🇻🧳 The first wave of Expulsion orders have been issued to Russians in Latvia. The Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (PMLP) has begun issuing exit orders to the first six Russians who had failed to submit any documentation to request a residence permit. Two of the Russian citizens have already left Latvia, reports the head of the PMLP, Maira Roze. A total of 1017 Russian citizens have not complied with the new law, however Roze states that 213 have already left Latvia through another European Country saying the information is changing daily. Photography 🛑🇱🇻 Photos from the beginning of reinforcing Latvia's eastern border. This week, military reinforcements have started working on strengthening Latvia's eastern external border. A HESCO bastion has been set up at the Piedruja border post. Dozens of concrete blocks have been sent to the Terehova, Pāternieki and Grebneva border points, which will also be used to quickly block movement across the border if necessary. The movement to strengthen the border passed on March 5th by the Latvian government. News 🔥🚨🇱🇻 Update on the museum - Latvian Occupation museum arson suspect detained The State Police detained a person who may be responsible for throwing a Molotov cocktail into the office of Solvita Vība, head of the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia, Interior Minister Rihards Kozlovskis (New Unity) confirmed to Latvian Television and LETA on March 1. He expressed great gratitude to the State Security Service and the State Police for their professional work in identifying and detaining the person.

“Excellent cooperation with Riga Municipal Police (RP) has played an important role here and the operational detection of the crime was due to the RPP Videomonitoring Center,”

says the minister. Police reportedly detained the suspect in Jelgava. He is a Latvian citizen and is thought to have not acted alone. Criminal proceedings have been initiated on the basis of Section 185(2) of the Criminal Law for committing intentional destruction of or damage to property of another if it has been committed by arson or in another generally dangerous way, which provides for deprivation of liberty for a period of up to ten years. Kozlovskis points out that this offense should be assessed in conjunction with the hybrid war conditions we currently live in, and such crimes represent a serious threat to national security. He hopes this crime will be judged with all the severity of the law and the punishment will be appropriate to the offense. News 🌧🇱🇻 The river Daugava floods in Jēkabpils, evacuations began. So far six people in total have needed evacuations from the flooding, and at 9 in the morning the State Fire and Rescue Service recieved notification that two people needed to be evacuated from a house in Krustpils Parish.
