In evaluation of patient with suspected Cushing syndrome the first thing to do is be sure it is Cushing using 24 hr cortisol level/overnight dex suppression test/late night cortisol level. Then once you become sure it is Cushing do ACTH to know whether it is ACTH dependent or not. For Cushing disease do brain MRI and for abdominal mass abdominal CT.
