If you're looking for something long and simple I would suggest this etf
It’s large and liquid if you wanted to sell
It has a very low MER at 0.06 (very low compared to other etfs or mutual funds).
This will track the performance of the 60 largest companies listed on the tsx. Lots of banks and large energy names. Pretty boring stock but it does the job. I bought 35 shares last week, not financial advice but id look into it fs
