OpenSeesPy Seismic Behavior Evaluation Dashboard for RC Columns In advanced structural engineering practice, validating nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) against classical plastic mechanism theory is crucial for ensuring simulation integrity. To streamline this verification workflow, I developed an automated Python pipeline that couples OpenSeesPy with Matplotlib to execute a cyclic displacement-control analysis of a cantilever reinforced concrete (RC) column and render a clean, publication-quality evaluation dashboard. The source code and implementation documentation are available on https://github.com/Dr-Wahab/OpenSeesPy-Seismic-Behavior-Evaluation-Dashboard-for-RC-Columns.git . #StructuralEngineering #OpenSees #EarthquakeEngineering #ComputationalMechanics #FiniteElementAnalysis #StructuralAnalysis #PythonEngineering

Eid al-Adha Mubarak 🌙 Wishing you and your family peace, happiness, good health, and abundant blessings on this special occasion.

Happy to share a verification example for a plugin I developed for Steel02 in Abaqus. In this example, I compare the Abaqus response with an equivalent OpenSeesPy nonlinear pushover model to check consistency in force-displacement behavior, deformation shape, and overall structural response. It was a great exercise in model calibration, section definition, material matching, and understanding the small details that create gaps between different FE platforms. I’ve included a video showing the comparison and verification workflow. https://youtu.be/21-4yn3iVDI Would love to hear your thoughts from others working with Abaqus, OpenSees, and nonlinear steel modeling. #Abaqus #OpenSees #OpenSeesPy #FiniteElementAnalysis #StructuralEngineering #NonlinearAnalysis #SteelStructures #Simulation #Python #VerificationValidation

Seeking strong candidates for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA PF) 2026 call. If you have solid experience in structural engineering, AI/deep learning applications, and at least one first-author SCI Q1 publication, feel free to reach out. Two professors are available to support qualified applicants, and I will personally assist with proposal drafting and strategy. Serious inquiries only. wahab@kust.edu.cn

I am absolutely thrilled and honored to announce that our Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship proposal received an extraordinary score of 99.6%! This milestone is the culmination of months of intense dedication and a truly collaborative effort. I owe a debt of gratitude to Dr .Said Elias , my supervisor Professor Francesco Clementi, and Professor Francesca Roscini, whose tireless, line-by-line guidance and mastery in research leadership were instrumental in our success. Their commitment to excellence and our shared vision pushed this project to its highest potential, and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together. I cannot wait to begin this next chapter at Università Politecnica delle Marche in Ancona, Italy, and turn this ambitious proposal into impactful research.

Here is a complete pushover analysis and results for a 2-storey RCC frame using OpenSeesPy. I built the full workflow end-to-end: model definition → gravity load → nonlinear static pushover → capacity curve → drift/hinge interpretation. Key deliverables included: Base shear–roof displacement (capacity curve) Interstorey drift profile to flag critical storey demand Plastic hinge / yielding sequence (where the nonlinearity concentrates) Clear plots + a short interpretation summary for performance benchmarking Full OpenSeesPy code + outputs are available on my GitHub: https://github.com/Dr-Wahab/2-story-RC-pushover-analysis-for-advanced-user.git hashtag#OpenSeesPy hashtag#PushoverAnalysis hashtag#RCC hashtag#StructuralEngineering hashtag#NonlinearAnalysis hashtag#SeismicDesign hashtag#Performance-Based Design
