Repost from 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.
متن توییت برای دانشگاه امیر کبیر و شریف :
Students at Sharif and Amir Kabir Universities started protesting and the government is arresting them.
Let's be their voice.
They are the elite of Iran, but the Islamic Republic has locked them up in the university and is arresting them.

Yeule gives us the truth of still being here. the heaviness of survival.
the prettiness of bones.

the music video shows that too, rotting fruit, spoiled cakes, things that are broken or used up. but yeule puts pearls on them. they try to make them look beautiful again.
that's what they are doing with themselves, trying to decorate their pain, hide the rot with pearls and makeup and glitter.
but deep down, it's still decay.
the pearls represent the effort to beautify suffering, to make emotional collapse look soft, controlled, even graceful.

and the title « Pretty Bones » that means so much on its own.
It's like: even when someone feels dead inside, they still try to look beautiful. It's the idea of a skeleton that's “pretty.”
that haunting mix of beauty and decay.

the first voice comes back, but this time with a strange kind of offer:
“Say you need to rest but go Snort a line a little bit Then you think you own the world But you can't control your fit I don't know how to tell you”It's like they're so desperate to keep yeule around that they'd rather see them escape through drugs than disappear completely. the line "I don't know how to tell you" feels like the truest thing, this person doesn't know how to fix them, just wants them not to go. then the song loops back:
“Don't you go leaving me You still got a life to go…”

“Don't you go leaving me You still got a life to go Sunken eyed, hollow Teary eyes, pretty bones”this part sounds like it's from someone who loves them, someone who sees them falling apart, their hollow stare, their sad and tired eyes, and doesn't want to lose them. then yeule answers:
“I could never run from it You know how it feels to be Tired from the weight of it Wake up and you don't feel home”They're not just tired, they worn out by life. They talks about carrying emotional weight for so long that even waking up doesn't feel like being alive. that last line hits hard : "you don't feel home." It's about feeling like you don't belong in your own life, your own body, your own world. (yeule has many songs in which they talk about this out of body experiences such as “cyber meat”)

Pretty bones : a dialogue between Collapse and Clingingto me, the lyrics of Pretty bones feel like a conversation between two people. the first person is someone speaking to yeule, begging them not to go, to stay alive. this could be the hope or someone who loves yeule deeply and is terrified of losing them. the second is yeule themselves. responding with quiet pain.
