Words Unfolded.

I hope to make Arabic poetry accessible to a wider audience & to share the beauty of this language. My translations aim to capture the essence & meaning of the original verses, rather than a word-for-word translation.

"It is amazing how Imru' al-Qais, in the pre-Islamic era, spoke about the characteristics and descriptions of the people of Paradise, even though he did not know them or believe in them, as he said: [ I pray for you, homes of old, with bliss and joy, But do you truly find delight, after the loved ones left those very homes?. Blessed are those with aged years and grey hair, Who embrace tranquil lives, untouched by love's cares. The young and old find peace in this truth, Resting peacefully, unburdened and peaceful. ] He referred to joy, which encompasses the finest aspects between the both abodes, then the everlasting bliss, which is the ultimate state of the people of Paradise. He then brought up the rarity of concerns and woes, which is the highest aspiration, and hinted at the safety they get once in paradise, which is the utmost of blessings, without adding anything further to these four qualities." Translation by: Words Unfolded. Copied from: @Huroofuna [ Please note that the interpretation of the verses aims to provide a clearer understanding of their meaning rather than a word-for-word translation ].

If someone's care for you is a mere obligation, Then leave them and do not dwell on your sorrow Venture down new roads, bid them farewell, & embrace peace. In the heart, there is a patient love for the beloved, even if far they rove. And remember, not every soul you've loved will hold you tight, And not every heart you've cared for will keep you in sight. When true love and adoration is not their forte, Compelled and pretentious affection, holds no worth. There is no good in a friend who wielded betrayal's knife and turned, And greets indifferently where warmth in friendship once burned, Breaks a promise & disregards life that's beyond its prime, And exposes secrets that were once concealed in time. Peace be upon this world if there is no, Friend who is truthful, sincere and just in his promises. Words unfolded.

My brother! Have you been bored of struggle?! And thrown away the gun out of your shoulder?! Who can cure the victims' wounds, And raise up the nation's flag again? Translation by: @arabicpoetrytranslation
