SPbPU is one of the most international Russian technical universities, where students from all over the world come to not only get an education, but also make new friends 👍🏼 Here are the bright events of this autumn, in which guys from different countries participated ⬇️ 🚌 Getting to know the city The university regularly conducts informative excursions for international students. More than 40 people have already visited Pushkin and Kronstadt, as well as learned interesting historical facts and architectural monuments, including the Kronstadt St. Nicholas Cathedral, Catherine and Alexander parks, palaces and pavilions. You can read more about it here. 🗣️ Language clubs, book clubs and movie nights For those who want to improve their foreign language skills, there are language clubs and movie nights – showing movies and TV shows in the original languages every week. Also, a new format of events was recently launched book clubs, whose members discuss what they read, share ideas and impressions with each other. 🍁 International festival “Golden Autumn-2022” Dancers from Indonesia, Mongolia, North Ossetia, instrumentalists from Uzbekistan, China, Syria, vocalists from Vietnam, China and Russia met on the stage of the White Hall of Polytechnic University. The hall warmly welcomed the participants, who demonstrated the sincerity, uniqueness and diversity of their cultures. Read more – here! Russia is among the top ten countries in the world in terms of the number of foreign students. The Open Doors Olympiad is a great opportunity for young people to enter the master’s and postgraduate programs of our universities for free without entrance examinations. This year, about 30,000 people from 176 countries have already registered to participate in the competition,” the Deputy Prime Minister said. 📚 The most popular subjects for international students now are: “Engineering & Technology”, “Clinical Medicine & Public Health”, “Computer & Data Science”, “Biology & Biotechnology”. Key numbers: ⏺️ Over the past three years, the number of foreign students in Russian universities has increased by 26 thousand people and by the end of 2021 amounted to 324 thousand people; ⏺️ More than 40,000 foreigners who want to study at Russian universities have already filled out their portfolio, over 10,000 of which are on the postgraduate track; ⏺️ More than 245 thousand young people from 197 countries participate in the Olympiad in 5 years; ⏺️ 2,800 participants received the right to free education at Russian universities.
