🇧🇫📺📻BURKINA FASO SUSPENDS BBC AND VOA OVER "MASSACRE" COVERAGE Burkina Faso has suspended Western propaganda outlets BBC Africa and Voice of America for two weeks following their coverage of a report accusing the country's army of mass executions. The decision comes after Human Rights Watch accused the Burkinabe military of summarily executing at least 223 civilians, including 56 children, in two villages in February. The Burkinabe communication council criticized HRW's report as containing biased declarations likely to incite public disorder. Despite the suspension, both BBC and VOA said they remain committed to covering events in Burkina Faso, which has grappled with escalating violence from Al-Qaeda-linked insurgent groups, which have claimed thousands of civilian lives in the Sahel region alone. BREAKING| Reuters reveals according to an internal State Department memo that at least seven senior US officials advised Secretary of State Antony Blinken that they do not find "credible or reliable" Israel's assurances that it is using US-supplied weapons in accordance with international humanitarian law. The officials cited eight examples of Israeli military actions that raise "serious questions" about potential violations of international humanitarian law, including repeatedly striking protected sites and civilian infrastructure; "unconscionably high levels of civilian harm to military advantage"; taking little action to investigate violations or to hold to account those responsible for significant civilian harm and "killing humanitarian workers and journalists at an unprecedented rate." They also cited 11 instances of Israeli military actions, which "arbitrarily restrict humanitarian aid."
