A federal grand jury just indicted him on 11 counts of wire fraud and money laundering. He fraudulently obtained more than $700,000 in COVID-19 unemployment benefits and small-business loans from 2020–2021 using his tax-prep business, other people’s identities (including a 77-year-old relative), and fabricated documents, THEM funneled the money into personal accounts, real estate, and even his own campaign.
He faces a statutory maximum of 20 years per wire-fraud count and 10 years per money-laundering count.
