PLACENTATION
Arrangement of ovules within the ovary.
#### Types of Placentation:
1. Marginal: Ovules in two rows along the ventral suture.
- Example: Pea.
2. Axile: Ovules on the central axis of a multilocular ovary.
- Example: China rose, Tomato, Lemon.
3. Parietal: Ovules on the inner wall; false septum (Replum) forms.
- Example: Mustard.
4. Free Central: Ovules on the central axis; no septa.
- Example: Primrose.
5. Basal: Single ovule at the base of the ovary.
- Example: Sunflower.
FRUIT
Mature ovary = Pericarp (wall) + Seed.
- Drupe Fruits: From monocarpellary superior ovary.
- Mango: Edible mesocarp.
- Coconut: Fibrous mesocarp; stony endocarp.
