In The Midst of Battle
Our Enemy Is Not Of Flesh And Blood
The Church Militant, which is the Church of Christ here on this earth, is in the midst of a battle. Our enemy is not one of flesh and blood, but one of darkness and evil. The survival of humankind is not dependent on the number of people who accept or reject the true faith, but rather that those who do, activate the fermentation, for just as yeast acts as a starter for bread, so faith in Christ can transform the world, and the entire cosmos. Saint Seraphim of Sarov said, "Save yourself, and a thousand around you will be saved".
With love in Christ,
Abbot Tryphon

Those following āconservative newsā can see CPAC and its shortcomings and wonder what is the problem. Is it because it is too trump centric, perhaps too anti free speech or adversely maybe too limiting in attendants. Not extreme enough or too extreme. Co-opted by ātrumpistsā or by āanti trumpistsā. These are all critiques Iāve seen. To me what Iāve seen from CPAC represents the spiritual deadness of mainstream āconservatism.ā As it is said, generally these people are not conserving anything except their own power. Giving speaking events to their own sons or board members does not help the causes at all and leads to largely empty rooms. Pathetic pandering and grifting is prevalent. At the same time, there is no creativity or innovation in these rooms. Many boomers under the impression it is the same world as in 1990. Or naive people still in the mindset of 2016 or 2020. As a āmovementā we need to move away from the suicidal spiral of election cycles. We need energy and loyalty that is not conditional on electoral stagnation. This sort of enthusiasm is found in the youth. Bring back imagination; that is a symptom of an alive spirit! We are people with a real experience of this rapidly changing culture and its dangers and its treasures. The thing about Trump 2016 is that it was a revolution. It blew up the status quo. Now the GOP is stuck back in the same place as before then, leading to what has been seen this week.
This dynamism is still alive though! The counterexamples representing true nationalism and religiosity are rising. Something that is not a grift but a commitment to this generation, led by this generation. Our heart is chasing a spiritual engagement. Soon we will share our reflections from our people who were in DC this week. We are proud to be part of this future. #reflections
Assertiveness- a quality we need more of. Assertiveness is a trait sorely lacking in young men today. We are quick to bow our head, go with the flow, or just agree to avoid any possible disruption to the seemed peace. This is a symptom of a weak spirit. However, assertiveness should go with discernment. We have to be assertive in the right things. Otherwise instead of rising courage and virtue it would raise brashness and arrogance. It is a skill and involves taking responsibility, standing up for yourself and your kin and your virtues. Being able to communicate, being strong and direct. The number one right thing is to be an assertive witness of the faith. Following that, the assertiveness of our other beliefs which we first of all have to prove to ourselves, then use ourselves to prove to others. #reflection

If you are interested in Wisconsin politics definitely get in contact with us. If you are interested in growing in the church, get in contact with us. If you are interested in becoming an asset in your community, get in contact with us. If you are interested in being a more active and fit youth, get in contact with us. These are just a slice of directions that we have been showing success in. We are creating a new generation for this state with energy that uncontainable. We are not electoral, but we are definitely "political" in the sense that we care about communities and ideas. Number one is for a youth of new men. This is a different direction than everyone else. This is how "politics" is meant to be. If its not making our people stronger and closer together, then what is it doing? The revolution in our hearts is accelerated when we are with our brothers and when we combine this lights together it becomes a flame! Take part in this with us, message wiscocc@gmail.com

Happy Presidentās Day, Hoosiers. Get out there and get active! Itās imperative that Orthodox men get together and get organized, especially in the world we live in. Orthodox men from northern Indiana got together for a hike, followed by a Meatfare feast. Weāre just getting started!ā¦ļø

America is the closest its been to starting a world war, and the politicians could really care less they are so detached from reality itsĀ something that i dont think can be found anywhere else in the world. I wonder if in the last days of Rome looked similar?
In the world today we are taught to have acceptance, tolerance and love for everyone. Thats what Christianity teaches, right? They say through this āunconditionalā love we are to attain a peaceful existence. But this is a major shift from Christianity. The problem is that we are not actually taught to love with our hearts, but we are taught a more contrived form of love, one based solely on outward interaction and acceptance. This enforced and regulated form of love is not a path towards true love, but one which only strips the soul dry of all depth and life.
The acceptance taught in todays society does not treat any culture fairly, but reduces it to a packaged philosophy or act that can be analyzed and set aside. This āintellectualā way of approaching culture from its outward practices solely only serves one true purpose (whether intentional or not) and that is to destroy belief in culture and thus all reasons for practicing culture. If we have love then we will preserve our belief and culture against the false love modern zeitgeist.

Happy Sunday, Hoosiers.
āThis is the generation of them that seek the Lord, of them that seek the face of the God of Jacob.ā
Challenge for you this month- go to confession and buy boxing gloves. If youve never done these things, then its time to try something new. If you have, then go again and hit the gym. Why these two "random" challenges? These go towards the ultimate healthy mind body and soul. Confession is a renewing of conscience and a refreshing of the soul. It is a way of taking part in the church and a conversation with God. Boxing is an exercise of your capability, coordination and power. It works your body and your mind. and you can have fun with your friends. These are the activities and lifestyle we encourage.

Community
The Communal Nature of Salvation
Salvation is communal by its very nature. The fierce individualism found in much of what claims to be Christianity is in opposition to the Orthodox understanding of faith. The Church as the Body of Christ is where we are united in Christ, becoming part of the community. The ancient Greek word Ecclesia literally means to be called into authentic community. It is within the Church that our personal transformation is intimately connected with the interaction we have with others and runs side by side with our fellow believers.
Ecclesia in modern usage refers to the Church and her role as a spiritual hospital, the place wherein we receive the healing that comes from Christ. This truth is demonstrated by the fact that we are called by the scriptures to be at peace with our brethren before receiving the Holy Mysteries. We are asked to forgive others as we would be forgiven, and are even called upon by Christ to love our enemies.
Our Christian faith can not be lived in a vacuum, for our personal transformation requires working out our salvation within community. Even the confession of our sins takes place within this community, for each time we sin, we sin against the whole of the Body of Christ. When we receive the Body and Blood of Christ, we receive not just His Body and Blood, but partake of the whole body, the Church.
At the moment of our baptism we are no longer defined as mere individuals, but united in the community of believers as One Body. Therefore, Orthodox believers understand that the Christ too whom we unite ourselves is found in community, and this community is the Orthodox Church.
With love in Christ,
Abbot Tryphon
