Learn English «SVU» from Zero

I will explain them in a friendly way: 1. Period or Full stop (.): Indicates the end of a sentence. (I am going to school.) 2. Comma (,): It is used to separate items in a list (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.), and to join independent clauses with conjunctions (I did study hard, so I failed the exam), or set off introductory elements and non-essential information (Nowadays, I am studying at the university.). 3. Question Mark (?): Indicates a direct question (How old are you?). 4. Exclamation Point (!): Conveys strong emotion or emphasis (You failed the exam!). 5. Colon (:): Introduces a list (The time you come home kindly buy the following: 1, 2, 3), explanation (I will introduce you how to bake a cake:......), or quotation (Once upon a time, a man said that: "live for nothing or die for something".). 6. Semicolon (;): Connects closely related independent clauses or separates items in a complex list. (I did not realized what he said; I confirmed him how I confused about that.) 7. Apostrophe ('): Indicates possession or forms contractions. (I do not like the classic color; it seems to me this is Ahmad's car.)
