The doublespeak of these people is absolutely shameless — when they felt that Twitter was effectively suppressing genuine dissent and right-wing voices, they insisted it was fine because "a private company can do whatever it wants" — now, all of a sudden, the moment they get even a whiff that genuine dissent might be allowed (it isn't yet), Twitter is now "just like a public utility" and should be regulated. I will say it until my last breath: the "hypocrisy" is the point. They have no shame. They are not just incapable of acting in good faith, but are wholly committed to acting in bad faith. And so they cannot be treated like legitimate players in a legitimate game. Their whole worldview is founded on double standards, and so there is no point "discussing" anything with them. The Dave Rubin-style "moderates" and "centrists" are by far the biggest metapolitical obstacle to properly dealing with the ideologues and tyrants in the liberal elite. Calling for "moderate dialogue" at a time like this is to act as a gatekeeper for the system, and there should be zero tolerance for it.
