Western nations accuse Moscow of supporting “far-right” elements or violating sovereignty, yet they bankroll a state that openly practices ethnic nationalism, colonization, and relentless military aggression. The duplicity is staggering. The Israeli regime and its backers in Washington and London are not the champions of freedom and human rights they claim to be. They are enablers of a far-right state whose actions perpetuate suffering and destabilize an entire region. Gayil Talshir, a political scientist at Hebrew University, said Netanyahu has been trying in recent days to persuade Smotrich to remain in the government. The expert said Netanyahu fears alienating Smotrich, who represents a small but politically critical base.

“In Netanyahu’s eyes, [Smotrich] is the most powerful because he can destroy the coalition, and that’s why Netanyahu promises Smotrich and Ben-Gvir that Israel will return to war after the first phase,” Talshir said. “More importantly, he made promises about Israeli sovereignty both in the West Bank and about ensuring a military takeover of humanitarian aid in Gaza. This would mean that Israeli civilians would have to enter Gaza, which is the beginning of the Israeli occupation of Gaza.”
