Summary
Sauron is an evil, ancient and powerful being who has returned to the Middle Earth. These are words to seen when the new trailer for Amazonβs The Lord of the Rings came out. The new series will be released starting from August 29. The showrunners J.D Payne a Patrick Mckay, attempted to reveal this tyrannical sorcerer, who sought to destroy other peoples, creating the rings which would allow him to conquer the mystical realm of Middle-Earth.
In the first season, Sauron, who is known to moviegoers as a giant flaming eye, was revealed as a handsome, daring rogue human being named Halbrand. Then, he encounters the elven warrior Galadriel when both are lost and stranded. Halbrand lied his way into the forge of master elven smith, Celembrimbor, and they end up creating the first three rings in a collection that will eventually bring elves, dwarves and people under the mastermindβs control.
Amazon acquired the rights to Tolkienβs fictional history for a record-breaking $250 million before even a frame of footage was shot. According to the showrunners, they try to correct and listen to the vocal fanbase. In the video, we can see rocks collapsing in the ancient subterranean city of Khazad-dum, where Frodo and his companions took a shortcut under the Misty Mountains. Rings are basically the nuclear bombs β said Mckay as the first season drew to a close. Sauron is a notorious shape-shifter, and the second season promises some flashbacks to how he ended up in human form. Mckay and Payne also hint that the relatively unknown far-eastern realm of Rhun, the homeland of the three witches who hunted Sauron in the first season, will be further explored. Rhun may reveal the presence of other well-known wizards as season two unfolds although the stranger, also seems like Gandalf is going East with a halfling, Nori. So the jury could still be out. Season two might be just as tantalizing a reveal for the fandom as the first one.
