How Normalisation works for AFCAT? AFCAT normalisation is a process used to equalize the scores of candidates appearing for the same exam but in different shifts having different sets of question papers. - This is done to ensure that all candidates have a fair chance of selection, regardless of the shift they took. The Normalisation process is based on the following steps: 1. The scores of all candidates are first calculated on a raw basis, i.e., the number of correct answers minus the number of incorrect answers. 2. The average score of the top 0.1% of candidates is then calculated for each shift. 3. The standard deviation of the scores of all candidates is then calculated for each shift. 4. The normalized score of each candidate is then calculated. - The AFCAT normalisation scheme was introduced in 2022. The purpose of the scheme is to ensure that all candidates have an equal opportunity to be selected for the Indian Air Force, regardless of the shift they took.

How AFCAT Calculates Scores? The AFCAT calculates the score of candidates based on the marking scheme. Inner Line Permit What is an Inner Line Permit (ILP)? 👉An Inner Line Permit (ILP) is a travel document officially issued by the concerned state government permitting inward travel of an Indian citizen in a protected territory. 👉It was implemented as part of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation of 1873. It was enacted to protect the commercial interests of the British Empire by preventing its subjects (at the time, Indians) from trading in these regions. 👉Upon independence, the ‘British Citizens’ was replaced with ‘Indian Citizens’. The ILP was applicable earlier to 3 northeastern states: - Mizoram - Arunachal Pradesh - Nagaland. 👉On December 11th 2020, "Manipur" became the fourth northeastern state after an order to include the Inner Line Permit was signed by President Ram Nath Kovind. 👉An interesting part of learning about the inner line permit is that at first, it was also applicable in some districts of Ladakh, but in May 2014, it was abolished; however, foreign nationals still require a permit to visit the protected areas.
