The bar chart provides data on the proportions of waste disposal through four distinct methods in four European countries. Overall, it is apparent that all the countries in question bury most of their waste in landfill sites, except for Netherlands which opts for recycling. Looking at the percentages of waste disposed in Netherlands and the U.K initially, the former burns a tenth of its waste, which is twice as much as that of the U.K. While the figure for the waste utilized as chemicals accounts for around 12% in Netherlands, that for the U.K. makes up roughly a fifth. Topping the list as the best way of dealing with waste in Netherlands, recycling constitutes approximately 70%, which is four times more compared to the U.K. Although merely 8% of waste is landfilled in Netherlands, this figure for the U.K. is substantially higher, standing at almost 65%. As for Italy and Spain, they follow a similar pattern. When landfilled waste takes the lead, with both countries making up two fifth, virtually 20% of waste is used as chemicals. The shares of burnt waste constitute over 20% and 30% in Italy and Spain respectively. Being the least used option in Spain, recycling accounts for 10%, which is half as much as that in Italy. #task_1

The images illustrate the layout of the Main Road in Farmshire Village now along with projections to 2024. From an overall perspective, this is primarily an agricultural area which will become more built-up. While some amenities are not expected to be subject to change, a number of new facilities will spring up in the future. Looking at the present outline initially, a linear road runs from the south-western corner to the north-eastern one, thereby dividing the village into northern and southern parts. There are 3 identical farms in the north, with some trees to their east. As for the southern side, a prayer center is located in the south-eastern corner, with a cooperative bank in the north of it. Additionally, a village store can be found in the far south adjacent to some trees. After the redevelopment, the village is predicted to witness minor changes. Although two of the farms are planned to remain unchanged, the one in the west is going to be converted into a poultry farm, with some woods being planted to its south. A new community soccer field will be established in the farther east at the expense of the woodland. While the prayer center and cooperative bank are predicted to be retained, a new supermarket will be erected to their west. The village store, in turn, is going to be supplanted with a multi-storey employment assistance building. #task_1

More and more wild animals are on the verge of extinction and others are on the endangered list. What are the reasons for this? What can be done to solve this problem? While many wild animals are considered to become extinct, some of them are reported to be endangered. There are various reasons prompting this phenomenon and a number of solutions can be taken to remedy it. Admittedly, animals are dying out owing to several reasons, one of which can be poaching. Despite being prohibited, people are still involved in illegal hunting, which leads to the extinction of rare species. The fortune and pleasure poachers gain through hunting is what drives them to kill more wild animals. African elephants, for instance, are valued for their tusks, and thus being dispatched to sell on the black market. Another potent rationale for this might be the destruction of habitats. Such a trend is caused by the expansion of urban areas, deforestation, agricultural and infrastructure development, to name but a few. Having lost their natural environment, animals can be left without necessary food, conditions and ecosystems to survive. These two are the primary reasons for the increasing extinction rates. Given that the number of extinct species is growing rapidly, various measures need to be taken to address the issue. One feasible step can be the implementation of stringent regulations. Not only do those rules deter the instances of illegal hunting, but also demonstrate what might happen with those who refute to abide them, be it a fine or imprisonment. Aside from that, governments can launch conservation programs. By establishing wildlife sanctuaries or nature reserves, authority can create a safe place for animals to live and breed, thereby multiplying the population of endangered species. In conclusion, the decline of certain animal species is caused by the excessive poaching and habitat loss. However, the problem of extinction is not insurmountable seeing as strict rules and programs designed to preserving wildlife can make a difference. #task_2

More and more children are becoming obese. What are the causes of this and what are the effect? Obesity is becoming a common sight among children. While there are certain reasons for its prevalence, overweightness can bring about numerous outcomes. On the one hand, obesity in children can be justified on several grounds. One of the causes of such a trend is an excessive consumption of fast food. Not only do children eat them on a daily basis, but also devour them in generous portions. The convenience, reasonably cheap price and addictive taste compels children to opt for fast food. Another possible rationale for it can be a sedentary lifestyle. Although children used to lead an active lifestyle in the past, they are no longer engaged in outdoor activities or going to playgrounds these days. Owing to the development of video games, distinct gadgets and console games, children find it boring and tedious to spend time outside. That is, children prefer to gather with their friends and enjoy playing within the comfort of their home. The less physically active children are, the more weight they might gain. Admittedly, being obese might have a wide range of serious implications. One main effect can be humiliation. Children suffering from obesity are constantly bullied by their peers because of their weight or clumsy behavior. Take my friend as an example. When he studied at school, he was regularly bullied and even beaten by his classmates for having chubby cheeks. Despite being fit and healthy currently, he still has those traumas reminding him of a difficult childhood he had. Not only that, overweight children might also contract particular diseases, with some of them being fatal. It is proved that those children are highly likely to experience heart attacks or develop respiratory problems, and in some extreme cases, it might even lead to death. In conclusion, while the causes of frequent reports of obesity may range from bad eating habits to the sedentary lifestyle, the cases of bullying and being diagnosed with illnesses are the main consequences of having an extra weight. #task_2

Nowadays, more people are choosing to socialize online rather than face-to-face. Why is this happening? Is this a positive or negative development? The majority of people are opting out of conversing in person and primarily choosing social platforms as a form of communication. While there are a number of reasons prompting people to go online, I am of the opinion that it is generally a change for the worse. The lack of face-to-face socialization may be justified on various grounds. One potent reason can be packed schedule. Although the work-life balance has always been a topic of discussion, people still find it hard to spare some time to their personal life. That is, people simply cannot make time for meeting and talking in person owing to heavy workload, much pressure and responsibilities at work, to name but a few. Another rationale for online communication might be the desire to save time and energy. When people want to meet with their friends or acquittances, they have to choose a specific date, plan in advance and arrive to the meeting spot on time. These altogether can create a lot of hustle, thereby wasting one's precious time and energy. Admittedly, online interaction can be seen in a positive light, but I believe that it brings about more negative outcomes. First, the absence of face-to-face communication can lead to certain mental health problems. Not only do people struggle to come up with topics to discuss, but they may also develop anxiety, excessive fear or worry and panic attacks when talking with people in real life. These individuals frequently cannot keep an eye contact and hold a conversation for an extended period of time. Moreover, the less face-to-face interaction there is, the weaker the social bond will be. We, human beings, are social creatures, which means to strengthen the relationship we need to interact more with each other in person. Having felt emotions, feelings and vibe of each other, people are more likely to feel connected and engaged. In conclusion, our busy lifestyle is the primary reason why people prefer online communication. However, this trend seems to be unfavorable seeing as one can face difficulties in face-to-face communication and maintaining close relationship. #task_2

Some people want governments to spend money looking for life on other planets. Others, however, think this is a waste of public money when there are so many problems on earth. Discuss both these views and give your opinion. There is a heated debate over the matter of space exploration. While it is claimed that government should invest more money on seeking life on other planets, some people believe that there are other problems requiring government funding. Although I agree that it’s crucial to investigate space, I’m of the opinion that authority should prioritize current issues on earth over those on other planets. Admittedly, exploring space may bring about various positive outcomes. One of them can be scientific discoveries. Having dissected space, scientists are highly likely to expand their command of our universe, planets, stars and galaxies, to name but a few. Such knowledge, in turn, may come handy to learn about our origin and past. Not only that, but technological advances are also driven by space investigation. It is those challenges and obstacles occurring during the process that lead to innovations and technological breakthroughs. For example, GPS navigators and satellite communication used today were discovered owing to research conducted on space. Notwithstanding the immense benefits of space exploration, I fall into the latter camp. It would be sensible of governments to focus on the extant problems on earth, one of which is education system. That is, the future of the country and its economy heavily depends on its upcoming generation and thus educating well-qualified individuals should be its main concern. When authorities allocate more money on the improvement of education system, they also ensure flourishing economy. Another sector would be healthcare. A wealth of funds spent on search of life on other planets should be used on providing quality healthcare for public. Take Africa as an example. Due to the lack of subsidies on health system, those in Africa have been contracting more infectious diseases than ever before, with some of them being deadly. In conclusion, granted, space exploration needs to be encouraged seeing as it aids to broaden one's understanding and prompts the development of new technologies. However, education and health industries on earth are yet to be boosted. #task_2

An increasing number of professionals, such as doctors and teachers, are leaving their own poorer countries to work in developed countries. What problems does this cause? What solutions can you suggest to deal with this situation? The exodus of professional doctors and teachers from their poverty-stricken countries to developed countries is becoming a common sight. While this trend can bring about some serious issues, numerous measures can be taken to tackle the situation. Admittedly, should experts leave their countries in search of better employment opportunities, various negative consequences can emerge. One pressing problem is the lack of decent public services. That is, the movement of doctors and mentors means a shortage of well-qualified professionals and reduced access to quality healthcare and education for the local people. Due to the insufficient number of doctors, for instance, the cases of contracting serious and deadly diseases may become ubiquitous. Not only that, but this also may enable the spread of infectious illnesses and outbreaks of pandemics to occur. In a similar way, not having enough teachers with a good command of a subject can certainly effect the literacy rates of a country. If a country cannot provide its population with an excellent all-round education, the future and economy of a country can take a hit since it is skilled workers who contribute to innovation and productivity. As this growing trend can render certain problems, it would be sensible to find out various ways to deal with it. First and foremost, governments should provide incentives for their employees. These may include offering better salaries, improved working conditions, career opportunities and promotions, to name but a few. These all-together might prevent professionals from moving to other developed countries. Another feasible step can be arranging training programs. Those involved in healthcare and education may travel from developed countries to poor ones to exchange ideas, knowledge and experiences, thereby improving local system. This cooperation may promote not only the economy of the country, but also the partnership between the countries. In conclusion, although the movement of skilled workers to developed countries can take a heavy toll on the economy, healthcare and education system of poor countries, this situation can be tackled through arranging alliances and providing different rewards. #task_2

Today was a really busy day with university, a birthday party, and teaching classes.💀 We had a great time trying to find the perfect gift for our friend who has unique taste and already has everything. We searched many places and finally found the right gift. When I got to school, my students were excited and waiting because we planned to celebrate their mom's birthday together😈. After finishing the class, I had a surprise planned. While she was teaching, I opened the door and pretended that one of the students had fainted😱. Her reaction was priceless, she turned really pale.😬🙊 It was my dear friend Ms. Barchin's birthday, and she's like a sister to me🥹. We have a group of five friends, and I've never told them this before, but I want to thank them for always being there for me whenever I need them💝. It's hard to find people who match your vibe, who understand your jokes and have a similar wavelength. We can't find words to describe our friendship because we more than friends🤗 . Even though I'm the youngest in the group, they treat me like a child most of the time, but sometimes like an adult.🫠 They strike a good balance. They always support me when I do crazy things🫣, but if I make a mistake, they comfort me first and then tell me what I did wrong. We do have arguments, but we still support each other and find solutions to our problems. Each person in the group is different and unique, so we heal our own traumas together while celebrating our achievements. We feel supported by each other, and most importantly, we are always there for each other 😍❤️. I want to thank Ad Astra school for giving me the opportunity to meet these amazing people.
