As we step into a new year, many of us make resolutions and pursue fresh goals. However, Bishop Philip Lim reminds us of Romans 12:2 (NIV): “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. In 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13, we are called to respect those who labour among us, to hold them in love because of their work, and to live in peace with one another. As the year draws to a close, Edward Hew from Holy Covenant Methodist Church reflects on this call, encouraging us to care for our pastors and leaders and to love one another well. "When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh." - Matthew 2:10-11 The wise men did not come merely to give gifts. They came to receive the greatest gift God had given to the world: Jesus Christ. Their response was joy, worship, and wholehearted surrender. Christmas is the fulfilment of God’s salvation plan, and its central message is this: God gave His Son for us. May we, like the wise men, open our hearts to receive Him. The Methodist Church in Singapore wishes everyone a blessed Christmas!

It’s Christmas eve today! Bishop Philip Lim reminds us that Christmas is not just about feasting and partying, but it is about Jesus who became man and dwelt in our midst. Christmas is the fulfilment of God's salvation plan for us. As we celebrate, let's remember to make room for Jesus Christ this Christmas!
