The dad should have never given up that ball.

This is something I noticed as well. Everyone is short staffed, struggling, stressed, and thereโs always a long queue for something. They never hire, even if they advertise for an open position. Costco does this. Safeway does this. Walmart does this. The post office now does this. The bank does this.
"I remember applying for Target recently because I need a job, even if itโs below my expertise. Iโve worked there in the past and can do that job easily. To see if Iโm handsome enough? I never did that video and the application was then rejected."

These videos will have AI reading your facial expressions, eye motion, etc. Sometimes HR watching like sheโs looking through Tinder. These arenโt interviews. Theyโre auditions. Itโs a humiliation ritual.

Problem is that most HR are using same centralized HR cloud software similar to salesforce. there is a record of everywhere you've applied and all HR cunts can see it, you're flagged red when you apply to many jobs in short span marking you as desperate, you're double flagged if your job hunt is across various fields, your career, call centers, mcdonnalds.. the more you apply the more system filters you. Oh, also if you're a man or white you're knocked back as well.
The same people who tell you AI will steal your job don't see that the digital world literally failing everywhere around them to the point it's bleeding into physical reality
