βπ» Outstanding sermon on the Old Testament Law: its purpose, function today, and the fact that nobody except Jesus ever kept it.
John 7:19: "Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?"
Matthew 5:20: "For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."

Why do churches meet on Sunday?
1. Because thatβs when churches have always gathered.
Churches have always met on Sunday, the Lordβs Day, the day He rose from the grave.
1 Corinthians 16:2: "Upon the first day of the week [Sunday] let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come."
Acts 20:7: "And upon the first day of the week [Sunday], when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight."
2. Because it makes practical sense.
Most people work Monday - Friday, so having church on a Tuesday morning would stupidly exclude numerous people from the house of God. Most churches have a midweek evening service in addition to Sunday morning.
Psalm 145:2: "Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name forever and ever."

What must a person observe in themselves to know they are going to heaven?
