Ever wondered what lies beneath the smooth roads we drive on every day? Here's a breakdown of the layers in a conventional flexible pavement, giving you a sneak peek into the engineering marvel beneath your wheels! 🚗💨
1. Seal Coat:
- Purpose: Waterproofing and skid resistance.
- Description: A thin surface treatment that keeps the road safe and durable.
2. Surface Course:
- Purpose: Handles traffic loads, provides friction, and prevents water infiltration.
- Description: Made of high-quality materials, it's the top layer we drive on.
3. Tack Coat:
- Purpose: Bonding between binder course layers.
- Description: A light application of asphalt that sets quickly to ensure a strong connection.
4. Binder Course:
- Purpose: Distributes load to the base course.
- Description: Contains less asphalt, serving as a cost-effective alternative to the surface course.
5. Prime Coat:
- Purpose: Bonding and waterproofing.
- Description: Low viscous bitumen application that penetrates and seals the layers below.
6. Base Course:
- Purpose: Further load distribution and drainage.
- Description: Made of crushed stone, slag, or other materials, enhancing the road's structural support.
7. Subbase Course (optional):
- Purpose: Structural support, drainage, and fines prevention.
- Description: Located beneath the base course, it's optional depending on sub-grade quality.
8. Subgrade:
- Purpose: Foundation for the road.
- Description: Natural soil layer compacted to ideal density and moisture levels.

The BIM Engineers - Your BIM Experts
In the dynamic world of digital modeling, understanding the nuances between 3D and BIM models can be a game-changer. Let's shed some light on the contrast:
🔹 3D Model - While 3D models excel at visualizing objects in three dimensions, they typically focus on geometry and appearance. They're great for early design exploration and visualization.
🔹 BIM Model - Building Information Modeling (BIM), on the other hand, goes beyond visuals. BIM models contain intelligent, data-rich 3D objects with information about materials, dimensions, and more. This makes them invaluable for comprehensive design, analysis, collaboration, and even facility management.
🔹 Use Cases - 3D models are commonly used in gaming, entertainment, and some design fields. BIM models, on the other hand, have become a cornerstone in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
🔹 Impact - While 3D models may require manual updates when changes occur, BIM models automatically reflect alterations throughout the model. This not only saves time but also reduces the risk of errors.
🔹 Collaboration - 3D models may pose limitations in terms of collaboration due to their limited data integration. BIM models, however, are designed to facilitate collaboration among various stakeholders, improving communication and decision-making.
🔹 Lifecycle - 3D models are typically used in the early stages of a project. BIM models, with their wealth of information, support the entire project lifecycle, from design to construction and operation.
At The BIM Engineers, we're dedicated to advancing the use of BIM in the AEC industry.

Mine planning involves both mine design and scheduling of mining activities. The goal of mine design is to create a mine that will allow exploitation of the reserve in a safe, economic, and environmentally responsible manner.

▶️Though the words "mining" and "quarrying" often are used interchangeably, they are separate words with separate but closely related meanings.
🔊Mining, strictly speaking, is the practice of extracting minerals from pits or excavations.
🔊Quarrying is the surface-mining of limestone, sandstone and other materials.

I’m sharing detailed step-by-step resume building techniques that helps you to land your dream jobs.
I promise, it’ll help you in your Job Search. Let’s break it down below, with the help of different colors so that you can find out what is what easier👇
💡𝐑𝐞𝐝 = 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐬:
We start each experience with an action verb; if it’s in a current position, you can put as present and if past, you put as -Ed (Example of great action verbs: Collaborated, managed, improved)
💡𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐤 = 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬:
We put the specific hard skills and platform-based skills throughout resume to show that you fit the job description's qualifications; at the bottom, you also have the skills and match them to your experiences where applicable which you can do for your own resume. (Example: I was going into Strategy/Operations, so I put relevant skills pertaining to the industry)
💡𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩 = 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
Put where you graduated, GPA if over a 3.5, organizations/awards, etc. IMO Relevant coursework is optional; you can add this if you don't have relevant experience (yet) or are working on gaining those experiences.
𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫:
Location as (City, State), LinkedIn (linked), phone number and email (Optional: Portfolio/Personal Website).
💡𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 = 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬:
These are numbers and percentages from the positions you worked in and showcase what you did to impact the company. How did you get these numbers through a) asking your peers/managers b) calculated estimations based on observations?
💡𝐂𝐲𝐚𝐧 = 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫/𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬:
This showcases if you improved, optimized or increased xyz which is related to Operations role lingo.
💡𝐘𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 = 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬:
More broad or simple statements, these are relative to collaboration, providing recommendations, and identifying solutions to potential problems.
Note:
Education at the top if a student/new grad, move to bottom after experiences once early in career/professional.
