STRUCTURAL DYNAMICS
k component defines element deformation when resisting load.
High stiffness element attracts more load and possesses high ability to restore its original shape upon removal of force.
Element stiffness is dependent of its mechanical properties, geometry, and restraint conditions.
The unit of k is N/m.

Exploring the World of Photogrammetry: A Dive into Different Types 🛰️
Photogrammetry is a fascinating field that empowers us to extract precise 3D information from 2D images. But did you know that it comes in various flavors? Let's take a closer look at some of the different types of photogrammetry, each with its own unique applications and strengths:
1-Aerial Photogrammetry: 🌍
-Utilizes imagery captured from the air, often by drones or aircraft.
-Ideal for large-scale mapping, urban planning, and environmental monitoring.
2-Close-Range Photogrammetry: 🏞️
-Involves capturing images from a short distance, often with specialized cameras.
-Vital in fields like archaeology, forensics, and 3D modeling.
3-Terrestrial Photogrammetry: 🏢
-Focuses on ground-based photography.
-Used for architectural documentation, construction, and heritage preservation.
4-Satellite Photogrammetry: 🛰️
-Harnesses data from orbiting satellites to create high-resolution maps.
-Key for large-scale remote sensing and disaster management.
5-Underwater Photogrammetry: 🌊
-Dives into the depths of the ocean to capture underwater imagery.
-Critical in marine biology, underwater archaeology, and offshore industries.
6-Industrial Photogrammetry: 🏭
-Employs photogrammetry for quality control, reverse engineering, and more within industrial settings.
-Essential in manufacturing and engineering for precise measurements.
7-Spaceborne Photogrammetry: 🚀
-Takes photogrammetry to the cosmos, used in space missions and planetary exploration.
-Vital for studying celestial bodies and extraterrestrial terrains.
Each type of photogrammetry has its unique characteristics and serves diverse purposes, shaping industries ranging from geography to space exploration. The next time you see a stunning aerial map or a detailed 3D model, you'll know it might just be the result of photogrammetry magic!
Got any questions or insights on the subject? Feel free to share them in the comments. Let's continue to explore the world of photogrammetry together!

Unraveling the Impact of Metric Measures in Engineering!
As engineers, builders, and geotechnicians, we work with metric measurements daily. Meters, centimeters, millimeters, kilometers – these are our everyday language, but sometimes it can be challenging to comprehend and visualize the actual scale of these units.
Today, I wanted to share with you this fantastic animation that presents different metric units in a visual context. It can help us better understand how these various measures are applied in practice and the real differences between them.
In geotechnics, even a difference in size of one millimeter can have substantial consequences. For instance, consider designing foundations. If we anticipate that soil settlement will be 10mm, but in reality, it turns out to be 11mm, this discrepancy can affect the stability of the entire structure.
Similarly, the difference between a meter and a kilometer may seem vast, but when we look at it from the perspective of large-scale infrastructure, like bridges or tunnels, this "small" difference becomes quite significant.
I hope this animation will help you better understand and appreciate the complex but fascinating world of metric measures we work with every day.
