I remember ~5 years ago, most niches had an RPM of $1-$3. Some less than $1 π
I had channels getting 5-10M views a month, and it was so difficult to get to $10K a month with these views
I was trying everything in my power to increase my RPM,
optimizing scripts, descriptions, tags, titlesβeverything to have a decent RPM.

Personally, I'll stick to long form videos, but for beginners who donβt have any capital yet shorts are a good way to get into YouTube.
They're easy to produce and the RPM isn't that bad anymore either
With 1M views on a Short you can earn ~$200 currently
