و اینو گفتم که بگم احتمالا بعنوان بازیساز باید قیمت محصولات رو کمتر از قبل بذارید. این صحبت رو که «رنج قیمت بازیای ایندی اخیرا اومده پایین» بین بازیسازایی مث خود توماس براش شنیده بودم و فک میکنم سازنده mecha chameleon خیلی خوب فهمیدش و یکی از دلایل موفقیتشم همین بود. قیمت پایینش باعث شد که یه جهش فروش زیادی داشته باشه همون اول کار و بقیه ی مسیر رو براش هموارتر بکنه. | 55 |

| 17 | As a programmer of 6 years, I knew most of the stuff explained in this book. but still, some things were new to me (even after 6 years, tho most of it was not industry level work). But my expectations for these type of generic books is not high. it's impossible to make something like this and expect it to complete change your career after many years of professional work.
I think it's a must have for every programmer, at least one with less than 20 years in the industry. It's a book you gotta kinda skim through wherever you think you know the stuff, and return back to the book from time to time to apply some of the logistics explained or get a quick help. it might not be much, but i'd argue even skimming the book is good for most people.
There's this section of the book for example, where the writers are talking about how programming is not just mechanical and it's not possible to replace it with machine basically. it's essentially a warning to the vibe coding era where we delegate everything to ai and have forgotten the pragmatic ways of designing system. this book shows how much personal effort goes into SWE. Many times I saw authors talk about how it's not possible to be hyper accurate in specification phase and you gotta leave room for developer interpretation and all that jazz. many of which we are not applying currently in 2026. So I think it's a bit rude to say this book is completely meaningless when we have forgotten our most basic mindsets.
Not to mention it's a 1999 book. It's absolutely bewildering how they achieved this level of knowledge and experience to write such book back then. I might be exaggerating it due to not being alive back then lol, but that's my guess based on the state of technology back then.
It's also a very good book for people who wanna step up their game into "big leagues". i've been making small stuff my whole life. this book gives you so much insight into how it feels and looks like to manage a multi million dollar project. how to handle very large scale projects. due to this, some parts of the book seem very obsessive and some mindset and rules explained are a bit too much for newcomers (who are most likely to read this book). It's really a generic book intended to support everyone, from juniors to seniors and beyond | 95 |
