Sometimes life doesn’t make sense in the moment.
Delays, failures, heartbreaks, and unexpected changes can feel unfair.
But maybe… some things are not happening to you, they are happening for you.
God’s plan is often clearer in hindsight than in the present.
Keep faith. Keep working. Keep moving forward.
What is meant for you will find you at the right time. ✨

Power plant
Chapter 3
Qno 6
Solution
Statement 1 and 2 (Incorrect):
Stalling in axial compressors is typically categorized as positive and negative stalling based on the angle of attack. Flow separation on the suction side is generally associated with an increase in the angle of attack beyond a critical point, leading to a loss of lift and often referred to as positive stalling. Conversely, flow separation on the pressure side, which can occur at very low or negative angles of attack, is sometimes referred to as negative stalling, but the primary concern in compressor operation is positive stalling due to high angles of attack. The definitions provided in statements 1 and 2 are reversed from the commonly accepted terminology in compressor aerodynamics.
Statement 3 (Correct):
Rotating stall is a phenomenon where localized regions of stalled flow rotate around the annulus of the compressor. This rotating pattern disrupts the steady flow, leading to significant aerodynamic losses and reduced efficiency, thereby decreasing the effectiveness of the compressor.
Statement 4 (Correct):
Large-scale stalling, which can lead to surge, results in a significant drop in the delivery pressure and can cause flow reversal in the compressor. Surge is an unstable phenomenon characterized by oscillations in flow and pressure, and the complete breakdown of steady flow can lead to flow reversal, where air flows backward through the compressor

GATE2020-AIR266
I started my preperation from 2018 while I am in Btech. I joined Made easy Pune batch of ESE and Gate. From that time I started focussing on classroom study and the notes which are given by all made easy faculty. Classroom notes are sufficient for all aspirants to clear their basic knowledge and get depth in the subject. On the basis of this classroom notes only I cleared my very first Interview of MNC during my college placement season. After that solve all workbooks questions mainly the Convetional questions which are given at last of every topic. Because conventional are the only key which can blow your mind and cover all the areas of that topic. Even if you solved less objective questions but if you are covering all the areas of topic by practicing conventional questions then you will easily solve the Gate question. Previous year gate questions are important to know that which type of questions are arriving in this exam so we can crack it. I did it for twice. After that go for Online test series and start to solve first subject wise then go for Full length Test series. It's not necessary that you should complete all the tests. Decide first how much test you are going to attempt and then start doing it properly. Beacause even if you are attending less full length test series but you are doing very good analysis then it is more than sufficient. Even I had attempted only 8 full length test series but by doing proper analysis I secured this much rank.
My mistakes in last two years:Due to lack of consistency and discipline while doing study. I didn't completed all workbook questions and previous year questions. Not attended test series seriously and by not doing its analysis I secured AIR2160(Marks:71) in 2018, also I failed to crack ESE prelims by 15 marks. Second mistake was judging exam by previous year experience, I thought that previous year ESE paper was easy so we can crack it by doing prepartion parallely with job. So I took the Job in MNC. But after I getting into the job I didn't get enough time for the preparation, but still once again I failed to crack that ESE exam by 5 marks. And worst part here was Gate gone very bad with AIR8468. Here mistake was lack of focus on goal and lack of practice, revision and analysis.
So I left the job and started preparing from scratch and joined Made easy mains batch 2019. Because of 1 year gap in consistent study I had joined that batch. After that I get used to with mains questions of ESE and by recalling all the subjecs carefully I secured AIR266 in 2020 Gate. I rectified all my mistakes which I had made in last two years. And by knowing all my strength and weakness I was able to crack this exam.
Even I got the rank in Gate 2020 but I failed to crack ESE2020 also(able to score around 265-270 in prelims, but not enough to crack ESE because of reduced railway vacancies).
All the aspirants I want to convey this message that "Don't loose your hopes, even if you didn't do well in particular exam you will get something good from another. So never give up. Keep practicing, and maintain your consistency. Take risks and do follow your dreams."
At last "Gate is tough, made of Alloy".

Hello Sir, I'm Geetanjali Kapil from Made easy Prime GATE-ESE 2023 batch. I got selected as Patent Examiner this year and just got the joining letter.
I didn't hear about this exam before when I was preparing. But when the notification came, I filled out the application. The exam consists of 3 stages-
1. Prelims
2. Mains
3. Interview
In Prelims there are several sections for GK, Aptitude, Reasoning and IP (Intellectual Property), Science and Tech. I'm not sure about science and tech but there were 5 sections in total.
Then in Mains, there were 2 papers. First one was aptitude and IP, which was objective, and second one was subjective which was branch specific.
Interview was conducted in Delhi. There were 2 panels for Mechanical. I got the 2nd one. There were 3 panel members. As the interview was in April, I don't remember much. But the questions were application based mostly from the technical part and some regarding Intellectual Property. I got selected in NPCIL, OIL India and Patent this year. So, I decided to go for this.
Finally after a long wait, the joining has come.
Thank you Sir for ur time and efforts you devote for us students. We are definitely grateful to have a teacher like you.🙏😇

I have given interviews of ESE ,IISc along with ONGC , IOCL , BPCL (college and gate) , EIL ,BARC , ISRO (college and written) and have been selected in all except my first one ;)
So lets start with a failure
First interview : Isro where I panicked in the beginning and needless to say the result . I had prepared for interview by memorizing the introductions and favorite topic and project.
Then what went wrong ?? I could not deliver properly and my confidence got a hit and I panicked.
Lesson learnt : Be calm , composed and when a question is thrown at you ,never reply instantly . Think for some 4–5 seconds (the wait time should not become uneasy ) ,frame an answer start or think of concepts to be told and then start the answer . If you don't know , then also this thing shows that you tried to give attempt . If no answer comes in your mind , you can say sorry sir , I don't know about this but will learn about it (In future learn it as it will help you in other interviews ). This helped me as my answers were more organized and framed as compared to instant answers.
Then never bluff much or if want to say something that you are not confident , " sorry sir , I don't know the exact answer but I can guess if you allow ." If yes tell the explanation and its reasoning.
Then comes the part , " Be Yourself " or try to " Be Ideal " . So what makes you ideal for the Company ?? A company wants a dedicated but practical and thinking person . So whatever you say , there should be layers or at least one layer of reasoning to it .
Timeline of a Interview
• Introduction : You start with a series of points to start the discussion and make yourself comfortable. A brief intro covers cllg , birthplace, degree branch , college city , family .These will pose some questions . You have to think what can be asked from these keywords and if possible google them like meaning of your name .
• Prepare Company specific points.
The important subject for that company like Oil psus - chairman , its revenue , some award , welfare schmes , technical working and the subjects knowledge important for them are to be covered specifically like fluid machinery , ic engines .
Why do you want to join a company ?
What will you offer to company or Why should we hire you ?
Some recent news of the company and dont forget to watch the company video on YouTube and its website which itself will give you answers for above questions.
• Also learn the Important Subjects and their application and how it is useful in daily life . Technical subjects ( first priority to be given to subjects which are important for their applications , and then all basic laws and definitions of all subjects ) .
If the interviewer asks you 2–3 questions from the subject you are uncomfortable ,you can tell " Sorry sir , I have not prepared this subject well . But I have prepared these ….subjects well . " Because instead of wasting time of your interview for questions you dont know , you should use the time for questions you know . Example - An interview with - 10 question ( unanswered or wrong) with 15 questions answered well does not seem appealing compared with an interview with 4 questions ( unanswered including an apology) and 18 questions answered .
• Theory of your Projects / Training , problems faced and how you overcame them by using your strengths and their application in Present or future .
Always remember , the interviewer mostly comes empty and as you give answers he through reasoning digs out new questions which becomes difficult for us . So you should know what you know well and then after thinking give answers ( layers of reasoning ) . That's why mock interviews are important as you may always look from a same angle but others may help you in looking other important points.
• Write some Strengths to tell and incidents to support them . Also prepare for weakness ( makes you human :D ) and tell a strategy like how you are tackling it .
• Make some hobbies to tell or prepare some layers of questions to tell about hobbies and why these hobbies help you.
