#CryptoNews 😏 A Bitcoin developer disrupted the operation of the Bitcoin test network. Jameson Lopp, co-founder and security director of the Casa platform, conducted an attack on the Bitcoin test network, disrupting its normal functioning. With his actions, the developer created over 165,000 blocks in just a week. Under normal conditions, this would have taken 3 years. 💲Lopp carried out a so-called "stress test attack," which involves creating a huge number of transactions to increase the network's workload and disrupt other operations. Due to the overload, Bitcoin developers were forced to halt work on some applications. Lopp stated that the main goal of the attack was to demonstrate the most vulnerable areas of the blockchain and address them, rather than attempting to cripple the network. The "stress test" cost the developer $1 💸in payment for the electricity consumed. In a video, developers showed an unsuccessful attempt to synchronize the test node, which failed due to "creating thousands of new blocks per hour."
