Some neighbours ask me if there is any case Crucial Conversations don't work. Well, my answer is yes. In cases such as marking your papers and me spotting high usage of AI in some of your assignments, I make a deep sigh and simply turn deaf and blind :-) Happy Exams, neighbours!

ā€œIt is easy to mourn the lives we aren’t living. Easy to wish we’d developed other other talents, said yes to different offers. Easy to wish we’d worked harder, loved better, handled our finances more astutely, been more popular, stayed in the band, gone to Australia, said yes to the coffee or done more bloody yoga. It takes no effort to miss the friends we didn’t make and the work we didn’t do the people we didn’t do and the people we didn’t marry and the children we didn’t have. It is not difficult to see yourself through the lens of other people, and to wish you were all the different kaleidoscopic versions of you they wanted you to be. It is easy to regret, and keep regretting, ad infinitum, until our time runs out. But it is not the lives we regret not living that are the real problem. It is the regret itself. It’s the regret that makes us shrivel and wither and feel like our own and other people’s worst enemy. We can’t tell if any of those other versions would have been better or worse. Those lives are happening, it is true, but you are happening as well, and that is the happening we have to focus on.ā€ Matt Haig, Midnight Library

One of our reads wins Oscar! Thank you for the neighbour in FED2 for letting me know :-)

#nonacademicstuff I couldn't help sharing this with you, neighbours. My tote bag (secondhand) arrived this morning. It's going to be a good reminder of our reading discussions.

HI Neighbours, Hope you are well. Regarding the FINAL EXAM reading part, please find the book (Four Agreements) attached to this post. It is also on LMS. There will be some (10 or more) questions from this book. You are advised to start reading the book and make some notes for yourself so that you won't forget the key messages. The book is one of the easy reads and won't pressure you languagewise. Start the reading by taking the responsibility that you will choose to read. Otherwise, disappointment might ensue later on. I know that, at this point, you are all capable of making choices. Please help me spread the word. Happy Reading!

Some inspo for the weekend :-)

It's under the title of PROJECT 2. There you should submit it.

Dear Neighbours, Apologies for the LMS issues. I have received all your concerning emails. We have just been granted access to our summaries. Please make sure to turn in your papers no later than 23.59 tonight. The ones that are emailed me DO NOT count as submissions! Pass the word as much as possible! Best, Dilshoda.

Watch this video BEFORE you submit your assignment on LMS! https://youtu.be/kZnVkd2svkY

Dear Neighbours, Your home reading for the second class of this week is, as said in the class, The Little Prince. Please find the book attached below. You can choose any copy depending on your reading preferences. The home reading chapters are from 1 to 16 (including 16). Tasks to do while reading: 1. Not rush. Take time to unpack what could be meant by some of the simple lines in the chapters. 2. This is one of the easiest (languagewise) but, at the same time, one of the heaviest (meaningwise) readings for me. I want you to highlight/underlie three quotes from the chapters that hit your heart differently. The quotes could be anything , any line/lines or dialogue lines in the chapters. 3. Then I would like you to write these quotes on a notebook or sheet of paper. Keeping them on phone or laptops is not acceptable. You have to copy or print the quotes on a sheet of paper or your notebook. Make sure your handwriting is at best. 4. Last, I want you to bring the quotes to our first class next week. Let's give our best to unpack this renowned novella and I hope to see you next class. Best, Dilshoda.
