So, finally, the D-day has arrived – the day you have been preparing for over the last year or months. Today is the day when you'll either make it or break it.
If you make it, you will be in one of the most prestigious and top law colleges in India – a place most people dream about but never dare to try. You'll already be a lawyer for your family and relatives, even starting to receive cases from them (I got a divorce case from my mama and mami). They'll ask you to be their family lawyer but without pay (beta hamara case free me ladoge na). You'll gain respect among your cousins and friends, and they'll see you as someone destined to become a big lawyer in the future as you'll be in the 'top national law university.' But trust me, reaching NLU is not the end; it's just the beginning.
If you break it, your family will think that you haven't studied anything and only wasted time and money. They won't remember the long hours you put in but the 10-minute mobile/Insta break during which you were caught by your parents. No one will appreciate your hard work and dedication but only say, 'Padhta hi nahi hoga/hogi.' Even you'll doubt yourself and think, 'Kaha galti ho gayi.' You may feel you're not smart enough or lack what it takes to be in NLU, but trust me, you are as deserving as any other student who worked just as hard as you did.
Nevertheless, don't focus on these things now. Your only goal for today should be what to do in those 2 hours. Keep yourself calm and composed, and don't take stress – 'Stress is like a fog that clouds the clarity of knowledge.' (I know it's easy to say but difficult to implement, but this is what I was told, so I'm just passing on and following the tradition.)
