How should workers approach media? What can and can't be said? And what role does film and media play in labour struggles and workplace organising? We will discuss such questions and more with activists and legal experts at FilmArche, a self-organised film school, on 7th November at 19:00. [ENG] On the 14th of October we will watch the India vs Pakistan Match in the Cricket World Cup. We gather in Café Karanfil from 09:30 on, until the end of the match. Let's celebrate South Asian friendship in Berlin. Let's come together as lovers of cricket. [GER] Am 14. Diesen Freitag findet die zweite Betriebsversammlung bei #Lieferando in Berlin statt! 🎉 Bei der letzten Versammlung waren wir etwa 150 Arbeiter, wir hoffen, dass wir diesmal noch mehr werden. Es ist eine Gelegenheit für alle Fahrer*innen, sich während der (bezahlten) Arbeitszeit zu treffen und auszutauschen! Wir sind bei unserer Arbeit völlig isoliert, und das macht uns schwach. Diese Versammlung ist für uns alle, lasst uns diese Gelegenheit nutzen, um uns gegenseitig kennenzulernen und Arbeiter*innenmacht aufzubauen, wir sind nicht allein. Dear colleague, we, the couriers of the worker’s council of Lieferando Berlin are very happy to invite you to the second courier assembly (workers assembly) of Lieferando Berlin! ● When? Friday 15th September 2023 ● Time? 14:00 – 20:00 o’clock ● Where? Münzenberg-Saal, Franz-Mehring-Platz 1, 10243 Berlin (next to Ostbahnhof, https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/24264472#map=16/52.5137/13.4397) # What is a workers assembly? The assembly will give you a chance to get to know your colleagues and the workers’ council, hear what we have been up to, speak about the problems and issues you are experiencing and share ideas, and guide the workers’ council’s work in the upcoming months. The workers assembly is organized by couriers for couriers. Only the employer themself may be present. The rest of management is excluded by law. We always ask our lawyers to be present. Attendance at the assembly is PAID WORK TIME, and you will be compensated for your presence (hourly wage + average bonus). If you don’t have a shift that day you still have to get paid, including the time for the way to the assembly and back home. If possible we recommend you to book a shift Friday 15.09.2023 from 14:00 till 20:00. This way you can make sure that you will be paid for the assembly in time. If you are working on friday: Before the Assembly, you will simply have to inform the employer that you want to attend the assembly. By law, you have the right to participate and get paid without repercussion. # Which languages will be spoken? There will be interpretation to and from English and German. We requested management to provide an interpreter for Arabic as well. If you can translate into any language or need translation, then please contact us. We need you! # What are the topics? This workers’ assembly is for you. It’s your chance to talk to colleagues. Please let us know what you want to talk about. We intend to address the most common issues encountered in our work unit.
