Clash Verge rev has a serious privilege escalation vulnerability Today, the cross-platform proxy client Clash Verge rev has a privilege escalation vulnerability that affects Mac, Linux and Windows systems: • Mac/Linux: can be exploited to escalate privileges to root. • Windows: can be exploited to escalate privileges to SYSTEM permissions. • Affected versions include the latest released 2.2.4-alpha. The vulnerability is currently unpatched, and relevant personnel are actively contacting developers to coordinate repairs. Temporary protection suggestions: • Windows users: Open the "Service Manager" and disable the Clash Verge service. • Linux users: Use systemctl stop clash-verge-service && systemctl disable clash-verge-service to stop and disable the service. • Mac users: In "System Settings", turn off the background self-start permission named "won fen". If not necessary, please use Clash Verge rev with caution in the near future to avoid system intrusion or remote control due to privilege escalation vulnerabilities.
