How do I convert my CGPA to %age? A. For CBSE, multiply your CGPA by 9.5 B. For GGSIPU, multiply your CGPA by 10 C. For Delhi University For graduates before 2022, multiply grand CGPA by 9.5 For graduates after 2022, multiply grand CGPA by 10 D. For other colleges, compute the aggregate percentage of marks obtained as per the norms of the University/Board. For CAT registrations, can I use my last year's user id and password? NO. You cannot use any previous years' User ID and Password and must generate a new one. What documents need to be uploaded? The only documents you need to upload are: A. Passport size photo B. Signature C. Category certificate, updated, with your category serial number mentioned as per Central List D. What’s the best time to fill the form to get a centre of my first preference? There is no correlation to where you get your centre vis a vis when you fill the form. The slots and centres are randomly allocation figuring in your preferences. Fill at your convenience. Just remember that if your centre is more than 100 km from your place of residence, plan to reach there a day before. Book a room. Relax. Does the type of Work Experience matters in the B school process? During admissions NO During placement season YES. YES. YES See when you fill your CAT form, they only consider the amount of experience. At that point BPO, Consulting or Accounting work experience all are same. During interviews for admission is when they take deeper interest in your profile. A better type of work experience MIGHT fetch you couple of points more. It is during the B school Summer and Final placements that the type of experience really matters. Which will decide the type of, or if, you get shortlists and final converts. Which B - school is better? This is a very common question that I get in groups, classroom or DMs. The answer depends on several factors such as: 1. Current graduation and future aspirations 2. Work experience or Internship experiences you have had 3. Family background - Do you support from family business etc? 4. How desperate you are to do an MBA? I have seen students reject IMI Delhi or IMT Ghaziabad because they aspired for a better opportunity and were in no hurry to do an MBA. I have also seen people pining for IMI Delhi or IMT Ghaziabad. I have also had interaction with people who settled for a tier 3 college despite having a high potential because they could not wait for another year! So, don't take random opinions online.
