#QuestionSomeoneAskedMe Do faculties around India also write CAT every year? I have heard that some faculties register on the last date so they get Slot 3. Does their high percentile with no intention of joining any b school affects the students as they get low AIR? 1. Yes teachers also write the exam. 2. Nhn. They don't deliberately fill on last date. Its just that they decide around the last itself to write the paper 3. Filling first or last is not related to any slot. I have tried all the combinations and they are not related 4. I agree that the teachers getting 100 %ile might impact some students. But IIM guys also factor that in. Which why they call more students for the PI round that they would normally!

Is NMAT worth filling, considering the cost of form, ROI and primarily only 1 college being of benefit? The real question here is how much sense of urgency do you have for an admission this year? The answer would differ from person to person There are people who want to get an admission this year for sure. How/ When do I apply for Non - IIM institutions like IIFT/ FMS/ MDI Gurgaon? There will be a separate notifications for each of the individual Non - IIM institution. Once that notification is released, you will go to the website of that institution, fill their forms and pay the respective fees. No. You not need to submit any proof of your percentage nor submit any certificate in the CAT form. What’s the best time to fill the form? I always recommend to do the registration early on. Go through the form with a fine-toothed comb and be sure about all the data that you are intending to fill in. Plan to pay on the last couple of day. The benefit is that when you register and don’t pay, you would get periodic reminder from the website to complete the payment option. Also, while you are at it, it would be a good idea to make a new Email ID which would be discarded after the entire process. What all courses should I select in CAT form? As a thumb rule, fill all the PGDM courses. Fill FPM/ PhD courses only if you ready for a long-term commitment and are looking at teaching as career. Where do I upload my CV points, certificates etc? You don’t. There will be an appropriate time when the results are declared. At that time, the B schools will send a Performa for you to fill. I have a career gap before/ after graduation. How can I hide it? You can’t and you shouldn’t. the good thing is that you are aware of a gap. What was the reason for the gap? Illness? Plans fell through? Trying something else but didn’t work out? Create a storyline to justify your gap. Courses, internships etc can justify the gaps. I am involved in the family business. Can I show it in CAT form? How do I do so? Certainly, you can show it as work experience. That is, assuming, if your family business is a registered business. However, you need to: A. Have an experience letter B. Valid bank account statement and/or salary slips C. Neither of the above two matters if you don’t have fundamental knowledge of the work that you are claiming to do. What work experience should I put in? Will internship be counted as a Work Experience? What if my work experience was along graduation? Part-time/ Project/ Internship/ Articleship/ Pre-graduation work experience should not be entered and will not be counted as work experience. Other than that, doesn’t matter what kind of work experience you have.
