Meckel’s cave: A dural pocket over the petrous apex of the temporal bone that contains the trigeminal (CN V) ganglion. It lies above a bony depression called the trigeminal impression.
Meckel’s diverticulum: A congenital pouch in the small intestine, usually in the ileum. The “rule of twos” says it is about 2 inches long and lies within 2 feet of the ileocecal valve.
Meckel’s cartilage: An embryonic cartilage of the first pharyngeal arch. It contributes to parts of the jaw and middle ear.

A question for the true anatomy experts!
What is the difference between:

▪️ Kidney ascent: The kidneys move from the pelvis to the upper abdomen during development. This apparent ascent occurs as the body straightens and the lumbar and sacral regions grow.
▪️ Changing blood supply: In the pelvis, the developing kidney receives blood from a branch of the aorta. As it ascends, it gains new arterial branches from progressively higher levels of the aorta; lower vessels usually regress.
▪️ Clinical significance: If lower vessels persist, they may form accessory renal arteries, often supplying the lower pole. These are common anatomical variants but matter during renal surgery and transplantation because they must be identified and preserved when possible. A lower-pole artery may also cross the ureteropelvic junction and contribute to urinary obstruction.

▪️ At birth, the kidneys have a lobulated surface because the developing renal lobes are still visible.
▪️ During infancy, the lobulation usually disappears as the kidneys grow through enlargement and maturation of existing nephrons; the number of nephrons does not increase after birth.
▪️ Clinical significance: Persistent fetal lobulation in an adult is usually a benign anatomical variant. It can resemble renal scarring or a mass on imaging, but the smooth, regular indentations between lobes help distinguish it from disease.

I really hate AI-generated lecture slides. 😑😑
Take me back to those ugly old PowerPoint templates. At least they had character. 💀
just don't make me another AI-generated presentation. 😭

For a normal girl, dressing up means putting on a beautiful dress. 👗✨
For a female doctor, it means putting a dressing on someone’s wound. 😂🩹

Never trust a doctor who calls your investigation results impressive or wonderful. 💀
To you, it sounds like good news. To them, it means they’ve finally found something interesting to diagnose. 😂
