🦠 Dark Skippy method could threaten Bitcoin hardware wallets.
🥷 Recent security research has revealed a new type of malicious attack that allows hackers to gain access to hardware wallets and users' private keys after completing just two signed transactions. This attack, known as Dark Skippy, Involves tricking users into downloading malicious firmware.
📄 Nick Farrow, Lloyd Fournier, and Robin Linus published a report detailing the methodology of the Dark Skippy attack. The paper describes how each transaction signing device injects random values, known as nones, for each signed BTC transaction. Weak nonces can allow attackers to decipher private keys from the signatures through ‘nonce grinding.
🤖 This firmware generates weak nonces each time the device signs a transaction. Using techniques like Pollard's Kangaroo algorithm, the attacker can compute the initial phrase and gain access to the victim's wallet. Dark Skippy is faster and requires fewer signed transactions compared to older methods of grinding nonsense.

💸 Memecoin Buyer Loses $1 Million in an Hour.
🇫🇷 In a recent incident, the account of soccer player Kylian Mbappé was hacked to promote a fraudulent token.
🥷 The hacked account on platform X featured multiple posts endorsing the MBAPPE token, which operates on the Solana blockchain. With in minutes, the token's capitalization skyrocketed to tens of millions of dollars. How ever, after the creators of the token sold their holdings, the value plummeted dramatically.
💰 Notably, one user created a wallet on Solana specifically to invest in this token, purchasing it for 7,156 SOL, equivalent to $1.03 million. However, after the subsequent collapse in value, his investment was reduced to just $9,200 in a matter of hours.

©️ AMOS is introducing malware that is capable of cloning cryptocurrency wallet apps such as Ledger Live and displaying misleading information, which can lead to erroneous sending of cryptocurrency to attackers.
❗️ According to Moonlock Lab report, AMOS is back in action and being spread through Google AdSense ads, disguised as popular macOS apps like Loom, Callzy, and more.
🔍 Researchers discovered the fake version of AMOS by clicking on ads that redirected them to a counterfeit Loom website. Instead of downloading the real app, a sophisticated version of AMOS was downloaded.
🔒 AMOS contains scripts designed to steal crypto from wallets such as Ledger Live, Electrum, MetaMask, Coinbase, Binance, Exodus, Atomic, Coinomi, and others.
