🔒 Incident in Bitcoin DeFi: Analyzing the Attack on the CharismaBTC Protocol.
On September 21, 2024, the CharismaBTC protocol in the Stacks ecosystem fell victim to the second major attack on Bitcoin DeFi. Hackers exploited a vulnerability in the smart contract, allowing them to withdraw 183,548 STX and drain certain pools.

- Exploiting an "as-contract" function, which allowed the attackers to switch the execution context from the user to the contract itself.
- Constructing a fake transfer function, enabling the hackers to manipulate balances and withdraw funds without performing actual transactions.

🔸 Binance has issued a global alert about the rising threat of Clipper Malware targeting cryptocurrency users.
🔎 What is Clipper Malware?
Clipper Malware alters wallet addresses during transactions, replacing them with addresses controlled by attackers. This leads to financial losses if users don't notice the change.
🔩 How does it work?
The malware replaces a copied wallet address with the attacker's address, causing cryptocurrency to be sent to the wrong destination. Recently, especially after August 27, 2024, there has been a sharp increase in incidents. The malware primarily spreads through unofficial apps and plugins, mainly targeting Android devices, but iOS users are also at risk.
Precautionary Measures:
1️⃣Address Verification: Carefully check addresses before sending funds.
2️⃣ App Security: Ensure the authenticity of apps and plugins, and download them only from trusted sources.
3️⃣ Software Updates: Regularly update antivirus programs to protect against new threats.
