Islamic State of Mind

Does anyone know if Sh. AMJ has addressed the issue of Local vs Global moon sighting? I'm sure it's probably in one of his Ramadan videos but if anyone has timestamps it would save me a bunch of time looking for it. I've gone back and forth and eventually settled on Local sighting, plus that's what my local masjid does, but it just feels weird to not be fasting when most of the rest of the world is.

5	Reading a book on Islamic business and finance that I forgot I had, and for some reason the Editor (not the author) felt it necessary to include a preface completely watering down and Westernizing the definition of jihad, even though presumably that's a completely different topic than what this book is supposed to be about and there is no apparent reason to include it. The agenda to keep Muslims pacified and subdued is real.	0

7	The obsession with "da'wah" is part of the reason the Ummah has become weak. The "giving da'wah" to "begging the kuffaar for approval" pipeline is real. Islam needs no one, it's them (and us) who needs Islam. The truth is self-evident and doesn't need to beg for approval, and Allah guides who He wills. Wallahu Alim. EDIT: Probably could've worded this better. I mean the prioritization of "da'wah" at the expense of all else, and at the expense of compromising on principles. Not the act of da'wah itself. 8	+2 Is Ramadan such a vast, spiritual mystery that they have to have these talks every year? Aside from maybe your first year of being Muslim when you're genuinely still learning, what purpose do these talks actually serve? What deep, mysterious spiritual knowledge are they imparting on their audience for $15 a pop? Look at the wording and phrasing they use. Nothing but marketing buzzwords and fluff that means absolutely nothing. How does no one see these things for what they are? Just a money making scheme for the speakers and a shallow, hollow excuse for barely practicing Muslims to feel like they're doing something Deen related for once, but really it's just a form of entertainment and little else. They're selling the Deen as if it's a commodity that can be traded and purchased, and "Muslims" are lining up to purchase it. Plus it's always interesting seeing someone call themselves "Shaykh" when they can't even do something as simple as grow their beard.	0

You've been Muslims for years, if not decades, and you still don't understand how Ramadan works? Fast, pray, do extra acts of worship. What's the mystery? EDIT: I'm not criticizing Ramadan. I'm criticizing the commodification of the Deen by social media. Probably could've worded it better.	0
11	Does anyone have a reference for the hadith "Whoever insults a Prophet, kill him"?. I can't remember where I saw it but I can't find it now. Joogle isn't finding it. I remember islamqa scrubbing their site after Charlie Hebdo happened so I can't find it there either. Found a couple results claiming that Albani deemed it fabricated, but we already know the issue with Albani excusing the one that insults RasulAllah ﷺ so I don't really consider that reliable. And from what I understand Albani invented his own hadith grading system that differed from scholars of the past (or something like that) so I don't really consider him reliable anyway Wallahu Alim.	0

14	This might be an absolutely retarded take, please advise me and correct me if it is, but... This actually sounds kinda reasonable? It sounds better than Muslims dying from Israeli bombs. What's the point of being attached to the land and Muslims continuing to be slaughtered? What is being gained? Israel already controls most of the land anyway, whether we like it or not, they've maintained the upper hand. What is to be gained from Muslims continuing to be bombed and starved? Just looking at it practically. We know that victory is for us in the end either way. Maybe this is a good thing in the short term and will set up future events in the long term? Am I wrong? 17	The sheer amount of 'mosques' that go out of their way to involve the state in the business of Muslims, even where the state is not explicitly demanding it from them is extremely disappointing.
